Very nice flow, and a well executed example of an intentionally anti-climactic ending. Truly amazing vocals, and instrumentals that don't overpower the lyrics like in many songs nowadays. Top tier song, good job.

This song is amazing! As an Uruguayan who's biggest dream is to migrate to the US and became a citizen, it really touches me! That is the American Dream, freedom and unlimited opportunities!
@georgewilliamson56673 жыл бұрын
I hope you make it hear man, I've lived my entire life in the US, and I love it here. Its beautiful, with a unique culture and amazing music, and I hope you can come and experience this place with us. Be warned though, like everywhere we aren't perfect here in the US either, and there's plenty of ways to trip and fall if you aren't careful. This song isn't lying but neither are Johnny Cash and Tupac, the US can be rough. Nonetheless though, the problems we face here will only make us stronger, and I think anyone who wants to come to this country should have the opportunities to do it. After all, diversity is strength.

I don’t know whether to interpret this song at surface value as literally “I want what I want” or if this song is actually a clever criticism of the typical american’s desires and views, and how they consistently choose what they want over what they need, to their own detriment (like the example of a burger and fries - you might want fast food, but it’s not what you need because it’s unhealthy and eventually makes you sick). Eh, imma interpret this as the latter, I really like to perceive this as a clever criticism of The Modern America. Really catchy as well! Love it :)

I think it is the latter, great song regardless.

I think it’s a criticism of Libertarianism and Libertarian beliefs in general, how people are incapable of making choices that are good for them at the cost of what they want. If people are “too free”, they get hurt. Which, as a Libertarian, I disagree with, but I like the song regardless because it raises some good points.

My interpretation of this song is a criticism of Libertarianism and Libertarian beliefs. “I smoke weed in a city” Legalization of marijuana and other drugs is a staple of Libertarian Politics. “...of a Netflix Nation” refers to the way Libertarians want to privatize almost all major industries, and replace them with corporations. “I want a burger with fries, supersize my bacon, a big apple pie, as much as I can take...” has two points. “Supersize” is a reference to McDonald’s, a mega-corporation. The food is an allusion to health and safety. This directly borrows from the idea that if people are too free, they can get hurt. Sacrificing safety for freedom is yet another staple of Libertarianism. “A G4 A Jet and a Lambo to crash in” referring to the massive wealth divide that would result from a strictly Anarcho-Capitalist (extreme Libertarian) society. If you have enough money for a private jet AND a Lamborghini just to crash, you are extremely wealthy. “Give me liberty, or give me death” a reference to the famous speech by Patrick Henry, a man who would be considered a Libertarian if he were alive today. “I want a Playboy bunny in a schoolgirl outfit” a reference to Hugh Hefner, a multi-millionaire famous for his lavish lifestyle and endeavors with women. “Botox lips and Silicon Valley”, Botox being unhealthy, and Silicon Valley being the home of tech millionaires and billionaires. I’m certain there are other references, and I just missed them, but that’s pretty much what I’ve deduced from this song. As a Libertarian, you’d think I’d hate this song, when in reality, I believe it raises good points. I wholeheartedly believe that we shouldn’t sacrifice our freedom for safety, even if it means people are going to make dumb decisions.
@misscarmex16024 жыл бұрын
My view on this: So, basically what Americans perceived as freedom as being able to eat, do, and have whatever you want. If you want to eat 10 million burgers and get fat you can if you want to protest animal rights you can. Nobody should stop you from doing that because that is true freedom. So, this song is saying I would rather die than being under a controlling system. Which is the line "I want what I want not what I need even if it kills me I'll be free" Also, it means that even if I die might as well go out with a bang or just do whatever I want than someone telling me what to do. The lines "I want a bigger, faster, stronger give me to it louder harder" is just taking about having fun. I want to have fun but, I want to make sure I have a lot of it. Also, to be the best moments of my life. The verses saying "I want a burger with fries, supersize my bacon Big apple pie, as much as I can take in'" Or "I want a house on the hill and a couple other mansions G4, a jet and a Lambo to crash in Never gonna stop until I have it all I want a Playboy Bunny in a schoolgirl outfit Botox lips in a Silicon Valley" Is just saying this is the fun I want, I don't need it and I can survive without it but let's make these my best moments. So, I just view the song as I want to do anything that isn't necessary so when I die I at least know that I wasn't controlled and I had the best time.
