Another cool thing, to me, is that the micro can be used the same as a master volume and the guitar volume works like a gain control. Anyone who likes that trick of being able to sweep from clean to dirty from the guitar volume alone, the micro can do it. The FBE-100 or BassBreaker on clean have an incredible sound. Then just turn up the guitar for fuzz city!

I just did it 2 days ago. I took it with me along with small earphones and also a clamp tuner. I showed them to the workers to let them know these things are mine. Every guitar needed tuning. I used only two Amps (clean and overdrive) to compare every telecaster they had. It really makes a big difference when the guitars are perfectly tuned and you use the same amps over and over. Don't forget the tuner on the guitar when you put it back. I will never go to the guitar store without this micro amp and a tuner. Also, I'm taking them to guitar shows as well. Works fantastic for comparing guitars. Just use the same settings.

I have it, and love it. It removes any barriers (physical or laziness) to playing for me. I also use it to stream backing tracks, and even just a metronome, into my headphones while playing. It encourages me to play my guitars more, which is absolutely worth $99 USD.

This is a great point. I’ve been playing guitar every night any minute I can get as it’s so simple to use and with backing tracks it’s so much fun noodling away. Usually I can’t be arsed setting my gear up as I play in bands so it stays packed up till next gig (usually every weekend) and I just play acoustic at home. Now I’m electric every night. So good.

I have one since a few months ago and it is amazing, so handy when you want to play outdoors or while travelling. Regardless that it doesn’t have a gain control, you have plenty of choices to get the sound you are after.

Vox has been making similar headphone amps and they are also fantastic. They're cheaper but have less bells and whistles (no Bluetooth, USBC out etc). I also love the pick up and play versatility they give. Sometimes you don't want to deal with pedals, cables, amps etc.)
@BrianOates
@BrianOates 3 жыл бұрын
I have had both the AC 30 Vox Amplug and the second version with more effects and the swivel plug, they aren’t at the level of sound quality of the Fender, I was shocked by how good these sound in comparison. The stereo delay effects and the different types of tremolo and reverb are much more friendly to long term practicing with headphones, whereas the Amplugs got tiring to listen to very quickly for me. The Bluetooth in for playing along or listening to instructional videos really helps for portability as you aren’t tied by a cable to your phone or tablet. so you can walk away or turn while wearing your guitar without pulling on an aux cable.

Been curious about this for a while. I keep my amp in my garage where I can play it loud and not bother people. Sometimes I hate going there because it's cold as hell and I hate playing wearing a sweater so I just stay indoors and play unplugged or acoustic. Might try it out.

Thanks for the video. When I can play loud(er) I play through my Marshall DSL 15w combo . When I want/need to play quiet, I play through my Vox Pathfinder 10w with headphones on. I like using the different amps for different purposes because I get a variety in my tone. However, no matter how loud I play with these damn headphones on I am unable to piss off my neighbors! 🎸

Have something similar, the Boss Pocket GT. Connects to guitar by a normal guitar cable. Ordered one of these as it’s more portable though less overall amp presets. Love these for practice. Hoping the KZbin blue tooth link works for backing tracks. The Boss Pocket GT is supposed to do that as well but it doesn’t work the way it should and the work around is a hassle.

I've been using the "Rushead Max Valeton" Micro amp for some months now and have been impressed, it really is amazing, but when I see this Mustang thing, wow.. For the ones wondering, here are the advantages and disadvantages: Advantages of Mustang compared to Valeton: -Modulator to change effects' intencity -Lots of settings -Probably lots of presets -Bluetooth connection -Usb c connection -Foldable jack -Valeton has some gain even when in clean settings Advantages of Valeton: -Charges super fast! -Insane good sound for Metal and Rock -Cheap, only ~30$ instead of 100$ for Mustang Disadvantages of Valeton compared to Mustang: -Unfortunately you can't modulate too much the effects -Also can't record from there

@@necrom4454 the amps and the effects are more or less preset. You can adjust the tone of the amp slightly darker or brighter and it's reasonably responsive to guitar volume, and you can increase or decrease the effect intensity. It's not super flexible but in this case I really like the lack of options, so I don't waste time fighting with endless settings. And I like how it sounds.

The usb cable has a reversible small end plug, that's 18" long, and you can't find a longer cable , so get a 1/4" guitar cable 5 or 6 foot long, and a mono cable adapter to plug into one cable end, and the Mustang Micro in the other end of the adapter, then plug the other cable end into the guitar, hope this all makes sense. You can have the micro in front of you and see it better for operation and learn the color combos and remember your favorites. The main thing is a 1and a half foot usb cable, is now 5 plus feet long, you can relax and play and record way easier, hope this helps GLTA....

I think one big thing fender didn't get about making a pocket device like this is USB audio out so playing output from a mobile DAW through it while recording would be possible. The similar NUX and Mooer devices can, and the NUX can reamp. Those devices have their own issues but they both beat the fender micro for mobile multitrack recording even if they don't sound as good.

Your video production value is really great too man [I'm in the biz], really well done, keep up the good work. I just really can’t get into it, though I’ve tried. I think on vacation it will be perfect. I can’t believe they didn’t add gain stages to each amp, and the short cable is dumb. Fender MM is overdue for upgrades.. Put drum machine, tuner, upgrade audio quality recording to at least 24bits, voice over capability thru TRRS headset, and probably connect to Fender Tone app for tweaking/patch sharing perhaps. A limited use of the tone app is good enough. And maybe a looper if DSP can handle, and lastly increase battery life. NUX MP3 is killing the Fender MM.

On the other hand, I appreciate being able to use my phone to call in delay or other effects. Besides different amp models, does the mustang micro have built in effects, and if so, are they easy to manipulate without a display? Seems like a trade off between the iRig requiring more wires, but perhaps the mustang micro not having a display. What are your thoughts, wise sir?

So what Bluetooth devices are able to connect to it? Are wired headphones required instead of Bluetooth ones? Thinking about buying.

Is there a fender app associated with it where you can adjust your eq and gain levels? Or is it just plug and play, no customization other than the volume and tone on your guitar itself?

You can adjust EQ and Effect levels directly on the Micro. There's no app, though.

Instead of headphones, could you use it with a speaker as long as it is wired? I don't see why you couldn't?
@guitarmovies

Most headphone jacks don't have the power to push out to a speaker.

@@guitarmovies oooh so you'd have to either get a special adapter or a specific speaker?
@guitarmovies

@@Steinbock23 That might be possible, but I don't know. I think the limiting factor is the device itself, though.
