@@RobertBakerGuitar Thank you so much Robert! You have no idea how much this means to me. My wife and I just had our first child, and she had to quit her job to take care of him, his name is Leonardo and he just turned 5 months old, and is the absolute joy of my life. I’ve always been telling him that I can’t wait to buy him his first guitar so we can one day jam together. I can’t wait to start teaching him how to play guitar and the joys it can bring in your life. So thank you again. We had a really rough last couple of years, between financial troubles (which we rectified and are doing great now), enduring pregnancy through a pandemic, and also finally finishing my bachelors degree 2 months after my son was born. My point is that, this means the world to me, I’ve never won anything in my life, and I’ve been working so hard 6-7 days a week to provide for my family with only my income, and this amazing news just makes me want to go even harder. Great things happen to people with good hearts, thank you all for the kind congrats and wishes. I’ll be posting a follow up video with my wife and son with the guitar when it arrives. Again thank you so much! And as always my friends, as Eddie Van Halen once said, “If you’re not playing, I’ll come find you and haunt you!” And as Robert always says, “Keep oooon pickin!” 🤟🤟🤟

What is one of your favorite songs?! Just curious but don’t fret as it’s not exactly vital that you answer. So, if you haven’t guessed it already I am interested (a rather curious person) when it comes to getting to know about others. ...What has spiked your interest in guitar? I will throw you a bone after all my questions. I recieved my grandfather’s Ibanez acoustic guitar after he passed so naturally I picked it up a few times but with my eye disease I have been discouraged many times in the past. It has been just over a year now of me practicing and after a few hick ups I finally have a direction and focus while making some real progress. In case you might be curious ow someone with an eye disease plays well at least for me I have some hidden talent for being a lover of music so that is what drives me through all the difficulty. The dot stickers I place on the back of the neck of my guitar helps me navigate which fret I am at for fast finger Wizardry! 🤨🤩 Well, that is enough ranting of randomness. I do sincerely hope I don’t somehow make you uncomfortable with all of this. If anything may all the silliness bring a smile to you. Joyous blessings!!! ☯️

@@gregorywilson3318 Hi, Greg!! Thank you for your comment, it definitely made me smile. It's really hard to decide which is my favorite song … but some of my favorite bands/artists are Xutos e Pontapés (a Portuguese band), Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Guns and Roses, Queen (I could easily go on…😂). I always loved guitar and actually played classical guitar for a couple years when I was younger. I had to stop my lessons and never picked it up again. I miss it so much… Music is very important for me and it has an immersive effect on me that I can’t explain. I'm glad you found a way to play guitar despite your difficulties, don’t you ever give up as I did or you will regret it. I hope I made me understand… (English is not my first language)

My gretsch synchromatic gets 13 gauge flat wounds. Ibanez with ZR tremolo gets 9 to 42. Hopefully that tele gets 10 to 46. Keep rockin the fuzz! Still trying to find my favourite brand after 32 years playing.

Back in the 80’s I used the 5150’s .09-.42 , used those until Ernie ball stopped making them , then I was in limbo for years with strings that just didn’t work . I finally found strings I liked and switched to blue steel’s .09-42 . I tried other brands in between the 51’s & blues but they kept breaking. I still use the blue steels to this day.

Used to be ernie ball 10s; switched to Elixir Polyweb 10-46s on a whim. Love the feel even after months of not playing a specific guitar.

That Tele would sound sweet over here at my house. I use 9-42 slinkys. But I would use 10's on this tele, to keep more spank in the tone.

I use hybrid...for accident dicoverd that using first half 9s and 10s for thinner ones have made my playing more even, and my attack on thinner strings, stronger!

10-46 on 24.75" scale (Gibson) and 9-42 on 25.5" scale (Fender) as a rough guideline. Ultimately, I decide by ear and feel, especially for the "not so typical" scale lengths (PRS or Reverend).

Originally i played daddario NYXL 9s but a few years back the owner of my local guitar store recommended the SAVAREZ lights (9-42) and i havent played others since then, a real gamechanger for me

Hey Robert, over the years, I have used 9 - 11 for high e and 46 - 54 or so for low e on standard guitars. For my Les Paul, ES335, and my Stratocaster, I use D'Addario Pure Nickel Wound in 10 - 46, with heavier (GHS ~12 - 58) on my resonator and lighter (D'Addario ~009 - 42) on my Electric 12 string. I have an LP, a Strat, and an ES335, but i don't have a tele yet, but I would likely go 10 - 46 for one, if I had one. Not hinting or anything like that!
