I'm a 308 owner. He is pretty spot on on his review about the facts of the car. He loses the "respect" when he puts down the performance. Even compared to cars of that era it is impressive. The Porsche 911 was the best performace car of the 70's. Period. He reviewed a QV so that was the last of the 308's made in the mid 80's but kept referencing 70's style and performance while driving probably an 84 Ferrari which all cars were smogged down. His reviews are funny, not to be taken seriously. I say keep going Henry, just make sure you are correct in what you say or you will get murdered out here.

Yep I have a 308 and saved a good chunk of my working life for it. I take great pride in it, maintain it myself as I am not made of money. After an enthusiastic start it was jarring to watch you spit out the 308 with the disdain of a toddler swigging on a vintage chianti. In the humble words of Matt Farah ‘it takes an adult’ (to appreciate a 308). Of course you can say whatever you want but if you continue the shock-jock strategy with your reviews you will need thick skin. Putting my pride aside for a moment, your production quality is outstanding, you are witty and perceptive and I thoroughly enjoyed the positive parts of your review (then popped a vessel)

Some specialists have popped up that modify these using OEM Ferrari parts giving them more performance. You just cant beat the looks of these cars. Throughout the 70's and 80's they were at the top of their competition class compared to similar cars. The highly sought after $70 million 250 gto would get a similar review if you compare it with what is new today.

As a 76 308 GTB owner, I was laughing. Heck, he’s correct on most aspects. Regardless, last I checked my car still worth/valued at between $90k-$100k….and to me the driving experience is absolutely visceral…I’m totally spent from the analogue and manual steering/shifting, to the point I need a good rest, but I feel 100% satisfied because “I” drove my car and not the other way round! I’m sorry, but not even a new Ferrari can offer that satisfaction 😉 and don’t get me started on the whole electric car movement 🤮. In short, I love my “classic” Italian honey.

But what an absolute lack of respect, that machine in its time, was conceived for real pilots, not for inexperienced who depend today on traction control and smoothness of handling, it was made for generation X, in the video of What do you turn on? This is always happen when you judge a car that was first launched in 1979 with modern standard. It's a vintage car so today even a Mini Cooper has more handling, power etc. Who cares? In its days it has 245 hp when the average ,at least in Europe was 90hp. In U.s. a Corvette 198O had no more than 220hp and I don't think handling was better. So once again which is the term of comparison?Today standards or eighties? Even if you take a 355 is underpowered ...so in the end sorry but I just find it a spiteful review .

To the contrary, the 308 actually delivers a visceral, raw driving experience. It's not your Daddy's Lexus and was never meant to be. It is a bullet-proof sports car that can be fully exercised. Easy to heel and toe, the handling bears Niki Lauda's imprint . . . with a balance toward mild understeer to protect less skilled drivers, but an overall setup that can be manipulated by more experienced drivers who know how to hang the tail out. The engine is invincible, the car is easy to maintain. Is it a perfect car? Of course not. Not many cars introduced in the mid-70's were. Whereas you contend the only thing the 308 does is look pretty, I might counter that the only thing your video does is criticize with absolutely zero context, only contributing to myth. "Bi-annual cam belt change?" Did you read that off a bottle of Ivermectin?

Spot on, Jim. I own a 308 and NSX. The 308 wins every time in terms of what I want to drive. Of course the NSX is "technically superior" in every way, yet it's the 308 that I daydream about driving. Henry doesn't even know how to shut the trunk right. This whole video is a bit cringey.

@@robertbcope I agree about how he made fun of the trunk, yet he was the one not knowing how to shut it properly. He could of damaged it and that would of been costly. If that was my car, I would of lost it on him.

C'mon Henry, you just did this to look silly right? The 308 is a great car, a gorgeous classic, but maybe it's just too difficult to drive for a Gen Z'r...not soft enough? I watched several of your other "reviews", especially of the BMW M5. I love the way you shamelessly trash one of the highest rated sedans of its time. Brave. It's a good thing you are not worried about developing a knowledgeable reputation. Hey, you could change your YT name to "Henry trashes Cars", it would at least be accurate. What a ridiculous review this is. Honestly, I think Americans should stick to reviewing their own barges - this isn't the first American review of a European car that I've seen which shows that they very clearly just don't get the point. I mean fancy talking about a 308 in terms of shopping. How about taking it on a twisty fast road where the engine sings and the car comes into it's own. I give up...

Another fun review. Don't sweat the salty 308 owners (most of whom appear to be semi-literate, oddly). The 308 does indeed sound like crap, is dog slow and doesn't really handle. And as you point out, the steering wheel and pedals are laughable. Uber pretty, but not actually a good car.

But harsh I would say, put a sports exhaust on tune the engine and you got a cool car, not fast by today’s standards but let’s face where are you going to use 800 BHP at least you can use all the power it has!!
