By then you'll have a wife, possibly kids and a mortgage. Cars will be the last thing on your mind. If you're fortunate enough to build wealth through a high paying occupation or via business, you could be interested in high end sports cars, however by then you might realize Ferrari's and Lambo's are for wankers. Even most decent people will automatically think you're a dick. If you're in touch with reality, you'll go for something like a Porsche 911, GT3 or GT2 RS. An Aston Martin is another option to consider if you wish to limit social pitfalls of high end sports car ownership. Ferrari's still have a place at the track, public roads not so much, unless you're into an image as mentioned.

Nice Dan. At the end of my last video you can see my F430 I've removed the body from and started to put my new body on. The car only has 3000 miles on it but I've been reading the manifolds are a problem issue with these cars. How do you like the new headers? Any leaks or coming loose after driving it a bit? Sometimes cheaper headers can warp with heat and start leaking.... Ceramic coating isn't too bad to get done locally for me either. Lastly, how's the sound? Idle sounds improved for sure. Thanks CC

Lastly, any specific tips on what to look out for in the search for the F430, anything to run away from before investing into a PPI? We note later you mentioned issues w/ the wrap . Now despite the rumors, Ferrari do not run any hotter than other cars. the exhaust temperature is similar! there may be some effects because the engine is more enclosed. But this would be negligible. We were quite puzzled as we have wrapped cars and M/C exhaust w/ NO issues for many years . The reason you had issues it turns out is because you used the " wrong" wrap . now while I realize many / most Ferrari owners will just spend the $ and get header blankets. (The cheapest I found was $1400! ) But ! in the spirit of the DIY I will offer this info. We note that some Ferrari owners have had issues w/ exhausts wrapped in lavatape. I was surprised as we, as said, have used lava tape on many cars and M/C's for 30 + years w/ NO issues ! (And please let me point out there are many untrue rumors and LOTS of disinformation about wrap .EG NO ! it will NOT trap water and cause rust or corrode! Nor will it cause cracking or OTHER issues. ) The issue is NOT the wrap but the TYPE of wrap ! It can be Exhausting ( LOL ) to refute those dumb rumors and misinformation ! ) So we asked DEI ( Design Engineering INC ) what should be used instead? He said : " The issue on the wrap comes from higher levels of heat. Wrap will crystallize at higher levels of heat. It is still insulating, but it is brittle. When you grab the wrap or if it gets hit by road debris, it can come apart. Typically when customers see this, they grab it and pull on it even further and it then comes off. At this point, they will need a Silica-based wrap. This wrap is pricy, but it will last at maximum temperatures. We do not offer this wrap but it is out there if needed. " Now, note they do not even sell this type but were uber helpfull ! I found several sources, just google "silica wrap". This seems to be the lowest price............................................................................. - SILICA HEADER WRAP PART #: TCP-SIWRAP Silica Header Wrap is made from texturized amorphous silica filament yarn woven into a strong and flexible form. Since the yarn is texturized into a bulky form it provides excellent insulating values. HeaderWrap.jpgSilica Header Wrap is made from leached fiberglass, resulting in a much more wear-resistant finished product. *Sold in standard 2" width, 50' rolls below. QUANTITY * 1 $75.00

Coming from the Lotus community, where tinkering / upgrading with them is pretty close to the whole ownership experience, the way later Ferraris are put together is very similar to Lotus' too : under trays, diffusers, alloy chassis structures, alloy suspension components etc. The key difference is that Lotus haven't made their own drivetrains since the V8 twin turbo Esprit.

hello I just bought a 2006 ferrari F430 spider with 1,700 miles it is almost new but it has some details that it repairs because it was poorly maintained and other common problems in this car and one of them is the broken headers question: can I install headers with the rest of the original exhaust system? Or do I have to buy a complete system and which one do you recommend to buy? Thank you
