Hey Dan, maybe you should try to squeeze a set of jack stands/blocks of wood under the quick jacks on each corner. It's allot of faith to be putting on that little arm holding up the quick jacks...in case it fails...the quick jacks would fall on the jack stands/blocks of wood...you'd shit your pants but at least you would be alive to clean them. That's what I do when I'm using my quick jacks...
@jackdale92494 жыл бұрын
quick jacks are massively overeengineered ! heavy as sin ! sure wish they were made of aluminum ! you guys are being paranoid ! practically impossible for the stop strap to fail and there would be residual pressure left in the system too i believe so it would not collapse quickly . the release valve would not be actuated to go down unless you pushed the button !

I have Fabspeed headers and exhaust on my Porsche, and I live in California and learned that it is NOT PERMITTED to change out OEM components in the exhaust system regardless of how they manage emissions! The factory exhaust, etc. have some sort of a stamp demonstrating the system is OEM. So your only option is to swap back to the factory setup for the biennial emissions check.

Dan, invest in a set of stud removal/installation sockets, you'll be glad you did.

Another great episode, Dan! Glad that wrench did not hurt you more. Super tricky working overhead in the little space. I find it interesting always, when you share rough times it took for a task - Mo supervised or not. The car indeed looks amazingly clean from underneath too.

Thank you! It's a shame that these F430s all have the headers break, but at least the problem can be resolved using some Fabspeed headers... Plus you get some more HP and sound. Always good things in my book.

Will be happy to see if the 02 extenders work as all the forums, Ferrari chat etc. say they never do ! Asked my local indie Ferrari chap today and he said the same I HOPE all I read and heard is wrong !

If you look at minute 11:34 or so you will see that one of your A/C compressor hoses is leaking oil and or refrigerant. Or simply something got on it and seems that is leaking, hope you checked it out. Great vid.

May we suggest some lengths of pipe ,various diameters , to slip over the wrenches instead of double wrenching ! will save your wrenches fr damage ! & works well ! and a tiny bit of never seize on the studs ?

someone on one of the FB pages insists the headers failing and wrecking an engine is "scaremongering " and paranoia ! that one does not need to fit aftermarket headers ! he says he put a set of headers on his F430 and it was SO LOUD he could not stand it ! and he was black flagged off a racetrack ! ( for noise ! ) LOL

In California 2000 or newer cars are no longer required to have a sniffer test. Just visual inspection.

Not all together true there. They connect to your OBD II and perform a DAD OIS method in addition to the visual inspection.

What annoys me is that Ferrari didn't increase the quality of the headers as spare parts so that at least once replaced the oem headers would be fine. So after market parts are better than original? On a car for over 200,000 dollars? We should boycott Ferrari! 😉

Weird to me how Ferrari owners don't care that Ferrari doesn't stand behind their cars at all. Headers always fail and can damage the engine. No problem! I will not ask Ferrari to replace them! Honda would replace them without even me having to ask them. I know. I have had my Honda dealer not charge me for things because they are seeing the issue on other cars.
