I have apocalypse too (bought an XCOM bundle a while ago) but it looks even more confusing and micromanagement oriented than UFO defense

I know I'm almost a year late, but here it is: Element 115, Moscovium, was part of a popular UFO conspiracy theory in the '80s/'90s, stating that ships used it to alter the properties of gravity on their ships. We were around 8 years old and didnt even speak english then, and we had nightmares of crysalids haha. This game is really the best when played with company.

And the leveling is not just shooting, it only affects accuracy. tu go up from running around, reaction from overwatch shots strenght from being loaded down... This is why high reaction is one of the most sought after traits, its pretty risky to train, so you have to start with a high base.

The one thing that irks a bit is that the difficulty is too low and they're just able to breeze through. It's much more immersive when every move is crucial whereas they can now just move everyone around pretty willy-nilly in general sweeps.

openxcom is the tits. you guys should try and play with some mods, especially the area51 mod. the game is longer and so much more stuff on it. including government bases where the allies (civilians with weapons) actually shoot at the aliens too :D

Hilarious how they think Element 115 is a reference to this game. The whole deal with that element first came about through Robert Lazar (the guy who claimed to have worked at Area 51) way back when interviewed by CNN or whatever network it was. I'm pretty sure thats why this game included it.

The idea of element 115 dates back to area 51 conspiracy theories anyway. It's supposed to be capable of generating anti-gravity waves and used to propel ufo's. Hence the use in Xcom, COD and the X-files. It's got a bit of history.
