I love how The Office portrayed normal people living normal lives. More, it celebrated those simple lives. I work in journalism and all we talk about are champions, superstars, criminals. I find it tiring. This show gave a voice to the kind of characters that are only seen in 1/2 scenes in Hollywood productions and showed that they're as interesting, if you actually learn something about their lives and their opinions. This series is unique.

Its like... a good high school experience. 4 years of love, loss, friendship..making memories. But then you move on and new people occupy that building and make their own, which has nothing to do with the memories you made. So Pam taking that is like saying, that's my memory. That means the most to me. All the new people working at the office have zero idea about the history of that painting, of the emotional story it told. To them, it's just a random painting on an office wall.

I re-watched the pilot of the series just before watching the last two episodes, and I must say that differences are huge. The first season was completely based on the Office UK and characters were completely different from what they would turn into during the series. It was really strange listening to Kevin speaking normally for example. They are simply two different series with the same characters' names and the same location...

You know why the office is such a good show during quarantine? Because it makes us appreciate the little things in life. It makes us want to live our lives and go to work or go to school again, even if we may hate it while it’s happening. There is, though. They use the layers and complexities and growth of the characters to represent reality, and the different stages we go through as we enter through life. The characters all do fun things as a way to get the mundane aspects of the ordinary day, what we all hate. The final quote brings together all the themes of the show: growth, change, acceptance, love, and most of all, happiness. Jim and Pam represent the everyman and every woman. That's why they never become famous or something like that. The show stays grounded in reality in a hopeful American-Dream type fashion, unlike its equally good Office UK counterpart which represents the dark aspects of the everyday work life in a dreary, life is worse than your imagination British-type fashion.

Just finished this series which ended its run 10 years ago. Talk about being late to the party. The whole series and the characters will be with me a long time. I feel like I know them. The finale was perfect in every way. I had only heard of Steve C before watching in 2022 but Jenna , John and Rainne did great work and were perfect in their roles. Such a great show ! I think what will always separate The Office from other great comedies is the intimacy in that we are sharing these moments with these characters and the doc style with no soundtrack creates that. With Friends Seinfeld etc you are told when to laugh and it is feels staged. I do not connect to the actors at all. With the Office they are very real people played by such great actors and writers. And the best part is the ego-less actors are as greatful as the fans for being part of such an iconic show !

Ibrahim A idk, probably knowing his character throughout the series it would be weird for him to be all serious just because it’s the final episode. So in a weird way it was for the best for him to only have a few , yet amazing lines

The amount the last episode makes me cry every single time I watch it doesn't compare to any other show or movie. The part where Steve carrel shows up for dwight's wedding and he looks all older and more mature is one of my favorite scenes. The office is truly such a good show, with amazing character development. A lot of people wont understand how good the show is because they just watch it for the funny pranks and scenes but miss the story, growth, and meaning behind most of them. So many people judge the show too early and don't give it a fair try, first time I was watching the office most my family thought the show was dumb, then a couple months later and they all binge watching it. Michael was such a good character in this story, he is someone that is mostly misunderstood by a lot. This show is truly a masterpiece and by far my favorite. The acting so good as well, it really allows you to be immersed in their lives and in the story. Just finished re-watching the office for the 13th time and every time I finish re-watching it I always feel empty, because I know there is no other show or movie out there that will have the same emotional impact on me like the office did. They really know how to make the most amazing moments. The more I watch it the more I love the show and see things I never saw before. One of my favorite quotes: 'I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them." -Andy Bernard

Just finished my first ever full viewing. I feel so weird. Obviously it's almost 10 years since the show actually ended but you feel such a connection to the characters, it's beautifully written and acted perfectly. I love that in this day and age a show can still make you feel warm and happy. Sad that it's over for me now, will have to have a break before I revisit older episodes.

Michael was the first person we see in this show and also the last person we see on this show. The last scene of Michael setting up and looking at the picture of the office is symbolic. He always claimed the branch to be his FAMILY. Michael looked at the branch as something really special. And in the last scene where we see Michael while paying close attention to the painting of the office, Pam said “there’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things-isn’t that kind of the point?”. Michael understood the “big picture” which is what Pam mentioned in this last scene. Everyone who worked at the office only saw their workplace as an ordinary and boring workplace except for Michael. And at the end of the video, everyone had a hard time leaving because they finally understood how special their workplace was which was the “big picture” that Michael had already realized or “set up” before he even left Scranton. The original scene was from Michael buying the painting from Pam’s art show. In the scene Michael said about the office (while hanging the painting) “It is a message, it is an inspiration, it is a source of beauty, and without paper it would not have happened”.
