I think if they put a checkpoint there it might have been even more frustrating. You wouldnt be able to build up the 1-Ups along the way and u might get down to 0 lives and have to back out of the whole world and go farm flower coins and start the Final Final all over again

What’s weird is that I didn’t find the invisibility part that hard because I just had an idea of where Mario was, but I get why people find that section hard because of the fact that you can’t see where you are.

It was actually nuts for me: out of each section, I used the least lives on the invisibility one! I literally just beat that shit and it was nuts I was locked in and did the bouncing inflatables in one try and was flabbergasted. And I got the top of the flagpole, too. This video was honestly invaluable. The hardest section of all is definitely the spring section.

What helped me on the Invisibility badge challenge was to spam the emote button a bit to help have a visual cue but yeah that final balloon part can go straight into the trash can.

I put a small sticker on my screen. As long you place it after the screen starts moving and don't go backwards it will be accurate. Might need to adjust it at the area above where the balloon guys start.

This level took years off my life. I spent hundreds of lives and multiple actual real life days trying to pass it. My family was actually legitimately worried about me at one point because I was so distraught and they thought something was wrong. I felt like I was going crazy. I played this level in my DREAMS. Then I finally, finally reached the end, only to realize that I had missed the first flower coin and I wouldn't get the badge.

For the invisible part, your character is pretty much in the same part of the screen the entire time, so if you are playing on handheld you can put a piece of tape on the screen. You can put a cup or something in the center of your TV if youre not in handheld mode.

This is what I used to sort of cheese that last part, but be warned: if you're playing with a second player who has a hard time keeping up, you'll be going through lives at least twice as fast! Despite this, my +1 did a great job of conserving lives and even if the method was a little cheap, it felt great to finally finish this level!

I was playing 2 player with my husband, and this does not work, one person dies, the camera glitches for a bit and messes up where the crown person is and then we both end up dying… what really would have helped is if you could bubble in this one like in super Mario 3D world

I’ve come to the conclusion that they made the Final Final test marathon centred around the online aspect of the game. It is just so difficult to complete on your own unless you are an avid Mario gamer. I’ve genuinely found it a little easier to complete the more people you have at the end. I guess a good strategy would be to just help each other out, don’t go into the next stage right away try and wait for them where you can so they can tag u or a standee if they become a ghost. When all 4 or even 3 people make it to the invisible part it becomes a little easier and other players are willing to take more risks in helping. I’ve seen moments where a person will jump off an edge to reach a ghost player knowing they are also gonna die, but because they know there are still 1 or 2 players nearby they’re more confident they can save themselves afterwards. So really try working as a team show the others you are willing to wait from the 1st level.

Tip for the invisible bit => put an elastic around your switch so that it vertically lines up with Mario. It helps tons in the invisible part!

I started began to accept that I wouldn't complete this level. But kept on playing everyday for weeks until I finally did it. A HUGE tip was seeing another video. Play this level in 2 player mode coz the first player gets an crown on top so in the invisible stage, u can see where your character is. For anyone struggling with the last stage of the final level I found the best strategy and I did it on my 4th go Basically go 2 player mode and have 2 yoshi. And have the 2nd yoshi sit on your back through the first 9 stages. I managed to only drop from 99 lives to 70 lives. When you get to the final stage 1 person has a crown on your head. You can easily see where you are. It makes it so easy.

The invisibility section was just straight up awful. I couldn't get past the fish balloons, and the fact that you have to go back 3 rooms just to make it back to the invisibility part, and if you subsequently mess up, thus having to go ALL the way back again, I legitimately reached a breaking point. I had to resort to using the Easy mode characters. At least getting back to the invisibility part was way less painful. I also utilized the crown trick by plugging in a second controller, and I FINALLY freaking beat it. I wasn't even happy when I finished the level, I was just glad to be done. I own Super Mario 3D World, and would like to 100% that game one day, but from what I hear, Champions Road is way harder than this level apparently, so I don't know if I'll ever attempt that. If I do, it won't be for a while, or maybe I'll use an emulator with Save States LOL! Because my experience trying to beat this level was awful. I never want to go through something like this again. I play video games to have fun, not to have a mental breakdown. That being said, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a fantastic game. Would recommend!

*EDIT* HOLEEESHITTTT! I finally did it! I ended up using the infinite 1up trick to get 99 lives, then went back as Nabbit, got to the part with the spinning fire bars, grabbed a second controller, selected blue yoshi, hopscotched my way across, used Nabbit to get past the next 2, then for invisibility I jumped on Yoshi’s back, since in 2 player mode there is a crow for whoever is in the lead, I was able to tell where my characters were and Yoshi’s flutter jump was SUPER helpful here. Finally, the sound off badge is MINE and I’ve 100%ed the game. *original post:* Well.. this is infuriating. Even as Yoshi. Like holy crap. I *REALLY* wish there was a checkpoint flag after either the speed rail segment or wall jump. Keep dying at the spinning fireball part and have to redo the three all over 🤬 now I’m down to 5 lives.. going to have to take a break and farm more lives 😩 I can tell this stage is going to take me at least several days to master.

Holy crap, Thank you! After banging my wall against the invisible section for over a day I got there, started 2 player mode, and thanks to the crown I completed the section on my first attempt in 2 player mode. There are over 100 coins between the checkpoint and the invisible section too, so I pretty much was able to make endless attempts - thanks to that last section, I think I also went from about 100 flower coins to about 650. (because you get to keep coins and flower coins from previous attempts.)

I'm playing with Yoshi, cuz he can't receive damage. The trouble with him is when you jump on the balloon fish, bundles, ovbly, but Yoshi begins to flutter with the legs, you lose the enemy, and kill himself. That is why I hate the invisible part.

The problem with this level and why is bullshit it's that it takes a wrong approach to difficulty. Nintendo, as it has done in the past sometimes, confuses something challenging with something frustrating. Most players biggest gripe with this level are the Spring Jump section and the Invisibility section. Both have a common problem. Their difficulty stems from taking control away from the player. The spring jump is difficult because it takes away most of your control over the jumps. The Invisibility section is hard because it just doesn't let you see what you're doing. Those are just frustrating approaches to difficulty and feel unfair to players who have trouble with them. And rightfully so, it is unfair. Difficulty in platforming should be generated by having the player do more precise stuff with the tools provided. "Jump on this very small gap", "Go through this part within this tiny window of opportunity", "Do this faster". This is just "do this routine thing, but you won't be able to control it very well". That's doesn't feel challenging, that feels frustrating. That's not fun at all. It's a shame, because this level is a ugly stain on an otherwise almost perfect game.

That last section with the balloons is absolute bullshit. It's dependent on you guessing the correct time and spot at which to mount the purple fish thing and nothing else. It is nearly impossible to actually find your bearings on that thing so beating this level genuinely feels more like luck than it does anything skill-related.

I managed to clear the level starting with 99 life's and ending on 00... getting the right timing on the first pig was key... seeing the flagpole was a welcome sight

@@tayj9448What happened prior to me posting the comment was I didn’t realize that I had missed a Poplin Shop in Petal Isles, thus missing a Wonder Seed. Petal Isles has two Poplin Shops, and I’m not sure how I missed it the first time. Aside from that, I have 100% completed the game.

I just beat this level and all can say is that it isn’t fun, the lack of more checkpoints and the last invisible Mario part are awful, frustrating and kind of unfair. Quick tip for the last part, I was playing in handheld and used a rubber band to know where to land.

For the invisibility section, spawn in a second controller and you’ll get a crown icon above your head! It makes it so much easier being able to see where you are!

4:38 that right there is the furtest I've ever gotten, I always mess up that last jump, I never even noticed it was the end of that section. it's the hardest section for me (so far), I can do all the previous ones with little trouble (I actually do the wall climb one differently from you, easier I'd say), but in the hopping section I really have trouble guessing when to jump, it's such a weird section

This was the only stage i switched to the easier characters. And even then the constant jumping bit and vine bit just made me fall into pits more often. Jumping invisibility bit can suck an egg

The funny thing is... the "constant jumping" part and "invisibility" part are the only ones that are difficult to me (and Vines are also fiddly, don't like it). Those parts are just as difficult with Yoshi or Nabbit because you still get kicked into pits all the time. I gave up on the invisible part because I can't even jump on the first flying fish even after 20 times I got to the damn fish... I can't bothered to waste hours of my time on a single stage... and I finished pretty much all 2D Mario games 100%, AND I finished Hollow Knight with true ending, killed The Radiance and all - I didn't think I would ever give up on a Mario game. :D If only the invisibility part had a check-point, then I might have persisted.

A tip for the invisibility one is to start you jump with a spin jump so you will be spinning the whole time and be surrounded by air currents

This gauntlet level would have been better if they put checkpoints after each badge section. The invisible section at the end was rage inducing when you’d die bc it wasn’t really skill based and you can’t practice without unnecessarily having to repeat the past few parts to get there again

Also bad game design that there are lives in the game (decades outdated by now) adding pressure and a limit to your number of tries. Another Tip: for the invisibility section spam the emote/icon button. Its always directly above your head and will give you some sense of where you are and where you'll land.

Use a second controller and you’re able to see a crown on top of your head very helpful with the invisibility part. Also recommend both controllers to be Yoshi.

Got through all of it, got all the 10 coins, fought with the invisibility part for an hour and finally beat it. But i was a millimetre short on the flag.....probably not going back tbh. All of it felt fair except for the stupid invisibility shit.

Yesterday, I made to the 4th badge before stopping since I had been playing the other couses of Special World and finally passed them. Today I spent like 4-5 hours trying to pass this course and no luck. Keep dying on the invisibility badge.

We all hate the lack of a checkpoint in that invisibility section, but it get even worse by breaking a pattern the rest of the level kept. One checkpoint every three sections. The last checkpoint is at the jet run section, which is four sections prior, so if the invisibility section followed the pattern, it should’ve had a checkpoint, too. But it doesn’t, and it’s the most brutal, unfair part of the whole game.

This is a great and challenging level until you reach that awful last section. It is just unfair. I managed to beat this fking level twice today because i missed the top of the flagpole the first time and the best advice i can give is to use the clouds as a guide and calm down and understand you're going to die a lot, so use those chances to try to catch the right timing to jump in the first balloon.

Trying this now. Still haven’t beaten it and I’m 5 hours and over 200 total lives in. Spring Feet is the worst one so far. I get very inconsistent results with the Jet Run badge jumps. Grappling Vine is the furthest I’ve gotten. I’m not looking forward to doing all three of those sections again after inevitability dying a million time on the Invisibility section.

Went into this with around 94 lives, the first checkpoint i was at 75 then the last checkpoint i was 24 lives and i ALMOST made it but died cuz i didnt jump soon enough on the balloon boy. I also tried using the two player tactic but that really only works for that section cuz if you go back and try to get through the second player will die and drain your life count.
