I did a 6k sq ft lawn reno with 100% kbg early September and didn't even get to mow it :'( It came in pretty well and thick, but height wise the majority of it hasn't even made it to 2.5 inches. It's been amazing watching how well it can fill in bare spots (when temps were warmer), but now it's snowing in northern Indiana. Hoping it will really take off in the spring..

Awesome season,Ryan. Without a doubt you are hands down THE BEST lawn content creator in existence. Your content and visual artistry are like non other. I used to be a video editor. I know the work that goes into choosing your camera, your shot, lighting, and of course all that is involved with editing. Nobody compares to what you create. All the othe jump cut chumps out there are mere imitators. You have set the bar high over the years. Keep up the good work. I hope you are rewarded for what you are creating. It is amazing.

I have enjoyed your videos here in New Zealand. Obviously we have to adjust the timings of when to do things being in the southern hemisphere! I have followed your tips as far as my skill set and money allows and my new build and lawn here in TAUPO are the envy of my neighbours!! People stop to admire my efforts and often chat about what I'm doing and what they are doing. Who would have thought that lawn maintenance can be so interesting and engaging. Keep up the good work, you are a winner.

I did my final mow today. Mostly to get up leaves. I don’t believe in mulching them into the lawn when there are so many. It may smother the lawn. As I said previously I plan on dormant seeding. I’m going to try and plan it for late January early February. Hopefully when there is little snow and during a thaw and before a freeze and or snow. I’ll see how that works. It was good to see that your shady grass on the property was about the same as mine. Shows I may not have done anything wrong. This is where I will do the dormant seeding. Fingers crossed 🤞

You mentioned getting seed down a bit late. I did the same thing here in Illinois. Never really took hold. This said, I'm a bit happy about it and am going to try a bit more seed in some bare spots before winter settles in (meaning I have to do it today). I've been reading a lot about some golf course maintenance professionals who do just that because the winter can actually be advantages for late seeding and then it booms in the spring. We shall see. Worth a try, anyway. All this is new to me as a new homeowner, so what do I know? I have enjoyed your channel and the many tips. Thank you.
@ryanknorrlawncare3 жыл бұрын
I've done it on two different projects and one came up really well in spring and the other was not quite as good. The early spring conditions have a major factor in that because sometimes it gets warm enough here that we think it's spring and then winter comes back so it all depends on those spring conditions.

Hey Ryan, very good recap for the year. I got the same backpack blower a couple weeks ago and boy is it fun! The leaves are just about all gone especially after yesterdays wind, I will blow the yard a couple more times this year as I've got lots of big trees! The front strip renovation is looking really good with your rye seed. I'v e been in contact with Paul & Emily to try and build me a 48x104x16 post frame barn to store lots of classic cars, he's really busy but I sure hope it will work out next year as I'm really impressed with his quality work! Still trying to lock down the land? Take care and you guys have a good holiday, see ya next year!

What's your thoughts on dormant seeding? If I throw some seed down before the snow hits, will those still sprout come spring ?
@ryanknorrlawncare3 жыл бұрын
It can definitely work but it can also big time fail just depending on early spring conditions. So it all depends on your expectations if it doesn't end up working out and you waste some seed.
