I feel like rye grass is taken for granted. I had to renovate my new lawn after seeding due to not knowing the builders had dumped gravel and covered it with soild so roots couldn't go below 2 inches in spots. But there are some little patches of rye I have not watered almost the entire summer that are just a deep green, if I had it over the whole lawn would be extremely pleased. But going to give buffalo grass and other native grasses a go since the kbg just really was not pleasant to seed just to immediately die in the heat (obviously compound issues from shallow roots).

You might want to mention having the right cord size for the amperage. Also, did that device have a bigger guard originally?

Hey ryan, I’ve recently bought your equalizer fertilizer and noticed after the first application I tried to start my second application two weeks later and noticed that my backpack sprayer wasn’t coming up to pleasure so I could hear the pump going but when I pulled the trigger I wouldn’t get anything out of the nozzle. I did some problem solving and found that the filter inside the tank was completely blocked. I’ve never had that problem and I removed the junk and it continued to work until I noticed that I was loosing pressure mid walk on my application. I checked my filter in the tank and again I saw some buildup on the filter. I’m using the same backpack sprayer that you had before (sprayer plus 105ex) and I wanted to know what I can do to avoid this problem. Thanks

I've never had any issues. You might have really hard water though so that could be an issue. I would try warm water and really agitate it in a bucket like crazy before putting in the sprayer. That way you can also see it when you're pouring in and make sure there's no granules that haven't dissolved.
@matthewguarino7780Күн бұрын
@@ryanknorrlawncare thanks for responding so quickly. I do have hard water so that could be the trouble. I’ll try using the warm water and not add the liquid iron so I can tell if everything is broken up. Thanks for your help
@ryanknorrlawncareКүн бұрын
Give that a shot and hopefully that helps the issue. Otherwise we do have pHixORR which you can add for hard water if it continues to be something you experience but I'm hoping the warm water and enough agitation will do the trick.

I notice all your experimental plots are 100% fully sun exposed. It would be interesting to have a tree or some source of partial shade over portions of each of them.

What are your thoughts about the service from Swardman? I have a horrible experience. It took over 3 month to repair the Swardman! To me this is unacceptable and would never by one of them again. Too expensive and to slow in repairing!

@@ryanknorrlawncare What would you do if the control board of the Swardman Electra broke? Where would you take/send the mower and how long would it take to get it back? I had this problem and it took several months to get the mower back...which is unacceptable.

I’m preparing to do a full renovation on my front lawn this year so I’m just watching a bunch of videos to brush up on everything I need to know. Wish me luck! For now I’m just going to do my front yard… and depending on how things turn out, I’ll do my back yard next season. I’m in Michigan (cool season turf, obviously) so I’m going to start it late July/early August with killing off everything. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

After 3 years of JUNE/JULY yellow/ heat spots on my zoysia (I have a morning direct sun light reflecting from a neighbor's window reflecting on to my lawn- like a magnifying glass heat. But yesterday I found (while using a long screwdriver) to feel if the clay soil (Greenville SC) was too hard in certain areas, well I felt/heard a few 'clicks' in the yard as I pushed the screwdriver in... I discovered there are small patches of rocks/gravel 2" below the soil line. How do i safely remove the gravel (6ft x 6ft area) without destroying my grass? Thanks

Grow a collar of rough around the tee boxes and leave a few bands of rough scattered around. Gotta have all the shots in your play. Not just the tee shots and perfect fairway.
@ryanknorrlawncare4 күн бұрын
There's plenty of rough areas that you land in off the tees. The green right now is only 2k sq ft and narrow so it's hard to hit every time 👍

You just need to get a range finder, mark your yardages at each box (maybe engraved in submerged rocks), and/or tee box markers with Westberry Acres logo with yardages. Maybe a sand trap in front of green.
@ryanknorrlawncare4 күн бұрын
I have all the yardages and have them on scorecards for now. I'll get the tee markers done eventually 😀

Do each tee box slightly elevated on the lower side going down the hill with some sort of rock feature around the edges. It'd make them level and they'd be more pronounced in the landscape

You should be so proud of how far the new home and lawn has come! I was just thinking about how much work I've put into my home and lawn before watching this. Most days I always want more, and I hardly ever think back to what things use to look like. It's nice to take a moment every now and then to see how far everything has come. I cannot wait to one day own a home with acres of lawn that I put my own blood, sweat, and tears in. But until then, I will enjoy how far I've come in life and soak up memories with my family.
