The FINAL SSF2 Tier List for 1.3.1.2!!

Since this patch is ending, I felt like it would be a good idea to end it with a tier list. But not too too much has changed since the official one so I thought about doing one of the 2-axis tier lists. It would not only show us how good characters are but also character perception. Also, I just thought it would be fun lol.

I do find it funny that adult Link in the Smash games is typically mid to low tier, but then you have SSF2 Link, who despite having fundamentally similar tools, is so strong because of the game he is in. One criticism I do have of the video is that for characters placed in the left side of the list, particularly for the lower end of the list, you didn't really talk about why they are placed there in terms of viability. For example when you talked about Lucario, Wario, and Zelda, you talked about how obnoxious their tools and mechanics are, but didn't really talk about what is holding them back from being higher in the list.

Zelda is held back by terrible mobility and matchups, wario is held back by tiny range and linear neutral, and lucario is held back by aura being designed extremely badly (it makes him extremely weak with no aura)

I play samus, and the charge shot being that strong is something both sides fear, cause if you parry it, you practically destroy her, at low level she is broken, but without it, strugles a little to kill, fsmash doesn't kill at 120% and if you DI dsmash it doesn't kill at 130, dash atack if DI doesn't kill at 140 and n-air... is good, god bless n-air, b-air is broken only the tipper, if not the tipper had not kill at 120, and feels weird, and as she strugles to kill, sometimes, lucario against her... she just kinda explodes (just opinion, not complaning i like the character

My biggest gripe with sonic is they made up air the strong cheese kills move while in official smash games it was the fast safe combo starter,i also don't like the nair change,b-air goes crazy though it has like no landing lag it's only flaw is start up.ALSO light speed dash is ass please get it out.

@@illford I Azure you, I'm speaking mostly in jest (and partly in inside jokes). Anyway, it was less about it being "character-specific" and more about it being one of the _best_ (in my opinion, of course), which includes design for me, not just utility. If it had some intangibility or something ridiculous like that, I would then say it's bad design, but it doesn't even have a hitbox when you use the "Tails dash" variant, which is the center of discussion here. The 50/50 mixup of it being either Tails dash or spin dash is almost perfect in design: it's like Sonic in Smash 4/Ult, but it's easier to catch him due to this game's overall improved mobility, and once he initiates the spin dash animation, he can't just cancel it with shield like Sonic can. He's already committed to moving forward, whether it's with shield, attack, or something else, so he can't use it to camp you out either, at least not in the traditional sense.

So glad u put naruto in best design and mentioned cringe up b.. Here's my thoughts - Ssf2 portrays naruto cooler than the show and cool without the ninetails and high iq shadow clone plays while also having variety unlike the show with for the most part brain dead clones runnin and wasteful rasengan, they also used the more mature Japanese voice and a beautiful resprite, i don't usually use naruto in his games I enjoy early shippuden or part 1 sasuke more but ssf2 devs were in their bag with naruto , yet while having the ability to turn someone arguably bland into someone cool (before sage mode), they somehow turn someone cool (goku) into some one bland even at a casual level the nerf from ssj final smash was horrible, what was the point of replacing it with a cutscene that's a mid finisher and just c*ck teases forms not in the game, the modders do goku justice , ssf2 gave him a weird float running animation was never a fan, and just pointy elbows and knees as most attack and super lame up smash, no ssj in his kit, kaioken is limited and no good reskins like I don't get it, even link he's the smoothest version compared to his cannon smash game counterparts and isn't lame or linear like he is in most smashes, it's like ult done right if u wanna have a lazy repeated moveset make it work together, kaioken has flaws but without it I wouldn't ever use goku in thid game , and I think his v0.7 sprite looks better and more expressive voice lines, I yapped alot I agree with most of the opinions in this video very based

Sure, MOST of his attacks are not the most original and he's not a great character (to put it lightly) but come on his combos are satisfying to pull off and also you cannot tell me that his special moves are boring. I find the way the devs "balance" kirby stupid. Kirby is the worst character in the game, and for no reason. They have sandbag, an inherit joke character, better than a character who's been in all smash games and was only really good in 2 games, so they should really just give kirby a remade moveset meant to represent kirby's actual series. Tldr: Kirby needs better moves from their series to make them better
