The weapon jinx used is called fishbones. It's the hextech weapon that Silco wanted Jinx to complete. You can see in the early of the episodes there are some underwater scenes where Silco was giving his speech about power. He loved big sea monsters and Jinx knew that so she made a shark looking weapon for him. Also the shark weapon has an injured eye, just like Silco. It's a gift for him. And that just made me more sad

Everybodys mentioning Fishbones but nobody's mentioned how the rotating mini-gun she's been using the whole time is called Pow Pow which is what Vi called Jinx in ep.6

The scene where Vi tries to make jinx remember her friends shows how little Vi knows her sister now, it looked more like those memories were hurting her and causing her more trauma than anything else and that's the only reason I think Silco points the gun at Vi, he knows jinx and knows the pain she feels.

But the show is all about that, a lot of misunderstandings that pile up and shape up the characters to the league of legends champions we all know so well.

I don’t actually think Silco tried to shoot her because she was causing Jinx pain. I do think very much, that Vi was. And I know Silco probably knew. But he tried to shoot her because she was getting in the way between them. And it makes sense, it was his fatal flaw. His undoing, because of his pride and chaotic nature. He solves things with violence and doing what he has to do. And its what killed him in the end. Thats another reason he didn’t blame Jinx. He didn’t want to give her any more blame for his death.

I think/hope/wonder if next season will introduce more of Noxus with Mel/Mel's Mom and from Noxus they can later jump to either Demacia or Ionia. TBH There's enough content and background to go for over 6/8 seasons until covering all lands and their champions. Downside to it, it's most likely not to stand up for the expectations Arcane created.

His story is an underdog story that also connects through the white rose to the Isles, through mel to piltover and through her mother to zaun. I believe thats the prime spot to open Noxus history.

I think season two will lead away from this story and focus more on Noxus, and then lead into other areas of Runeterra. There are so many stories to tell. Although I could watch so much more of Jinx and Vi. It only makes sense to bring us all in the the rest of the world.

The show retroactively made the rocket way more interesting, rather than just a video game thing. Since we know Silco loved sea monsters, I presume that's why she made it a shark. And she gave it a crossed out eye, imitating Silco's. Such a wonderful detail.

I've seen Arcane about 9 times now, even more if we count reaction videos too. I actually still enjoy reactions, because it just feels like you're reliving the entire show with someone once again, and honestly the one that i loved the most so far was yours. Lot of people don't understand that Arcane isn't just a cartoon that you watch, you truly have to connect with the characters and understand their situation, you have to pay attention to every detail to actually be there, and it felt like you actually did that, you just watched it right and by doing so you created hella enjoyable content for some people. For that i thank you, keep up the good work!

I think what Jinx really wanted at the "dinner scene" was for Vi to accept and love her as Jinx the Person, rather than cling to Powder the Memory. The entire scene in fact seemed to me to be Jinx practically begging Vi to see her as only Jinx. When Jinx implied that she'd killed Cait, I think she was hoping that Vi would still have enough faith in her, that she would not believe that she was "that crazy." When she told Vi that she could have Powder back, if she made Cait "go away", I think she was hoping for Vi to say she wanted Jinx to stay. When she is sitting in the Jinx Chair, and says "I thought maybe you could love me, like you used to," she meant love Jinx as much as she'd loved Powder.

I think like Ange said, what he loved so much about Ep 9 is that Jinx got her agency, and that's why people (including me) feel that this episode gave you closure for the season. Let's be honest, this season was about Jinx, about where all of this trauma and heartache would take her, and we got to see that. We don't need to see who died in the council room, because the deed has already been done. Jinx has sat in the chair, and solidified her hate and vengeance for Piltover. "The Monster You Created." Piltover has no one else to blame but themselves for their inaction, ignorance and neglect. I love Jinx because she's the personification of the Piltover/Zaun relationship and how they failed them. Been a pleasure watching you two. The hair dye is the icing on the cake of what has probably been the best reactions to this show. Couple/sibling dynamics are always interesting with this show, and you guys didn't disappoint. P.S. I'm straight, but Ange looking gooood with that blue hair, lol. XD

Yes, Arcane is mainly the story about how Powder became Jinx, and that tragic arc is complete. There's nothing up in the air with that. Powder is completely gone. The sisters can never truly get back together. There will be war between Piltover and Zaun.

so the biggest questions of season 1 are "Powder of Jinx?" and "will Hextech be weaponized?" and both are answered. Looks like a solid season finale to me

I'm glad at least a few people understand that season 1 was almost exclusively about the origin story of Jinx, so her arc is completed by episode 9. Despite the inclusion of the other 'champions', they were there more for the purpose of explaining their effects on the world and their interconnections and can basically be looked at as prologues to their own arcs. Yes, that includes Vi, who hasn't completely become the version of herself known in game. Season 2 is supposed to continue in Piltover and Zaun from what I understand, so those stories will progress and given this format may very well mean that Arcane as a series will primarily focus on this region for its run and other regions will be handled as their own 'spin off' series. Given the scope of the world as a whole, and the number of champions involved, it would make the most sense to do it this way as it would be too overwhelming for those new to the lore (like myself) to keep up.

Thats interesting! Because honestly, I felt that Jinx had no agency until the very end of season 1 and her firing the weapon was just doing what she thought Silco would want. Given that throughout the entire series everything she did was to please someone else (first Vi, then Silco) and she never had any other goals of her own, I find it kinda hard to believe that she fires the weapon out of her own conviction, especially hate, considering that she never hated Piltover that much in the first place, and she was the one who killed Silco. I also have to say that based on what people who know League say about Jinx, Im kinda worried for her in the next season. If she is already like that in the game, it seems to me her Arc is finished, which means she's gonna stagnate throughout the rest, and that could potentially make her a very boring character. Again, this is obviously pure speculation, but I really hope they will give her something to do in the future seasons that isnt just getting used for other people's plans and stumbling into shitty situation after shitty situation. She needs some real agency, some goals and desires of her own and outgrow her child that just yearns for approval.

Silco's death was the most painful moment in the whole series for me. The fact that he not only wasn't angry that jinx shot him but his final words were to comfort her so that she didn't blame herself was so heartbreaking. It took possible the worst kind of person to finally give her the support and love she deserved after the bomb in episode three was so sad knowing what his death would do to her. Also if you look closely at the rocket launcher it has a black scar design over its eye. She was asked by silco to make it for her so she made it with the scar and in the form of a sea monster as she knew that he liked them. This was shown early on in the series with the window in singes lab and the sea monster monologue. Great reaction 😁👍

He was right in some regards "She'll be with you a day before she realizes you aren't that girl anymore". That's just 100% true, Vi isn't looking to help Jinx, she only looking to help Powder. Vi being so attached to the idea of Powder would be bad for Jinx, you can this in many scenes that when Vi brings up past memories it only causes pain. While they are good memories for Vi, they aren't for Jinx and Vi just doesn't understand that. She want's Vi to love her the way she is now, but that just isn't going to happen.

Just something to think about, you always saw how Jinx sees Mylo, Claggor, and Vander. Scratches, terrifying, tearing her apart and makes her question everything that she is. When Vi saw Vander, he was pure, a source of strength and peace that builds her up. Vi came from the same place as Jinx, but doesn't understand how Jinx sees it. Silco did, he only went for the gun when Vi was bringing up the bad that only Silco knew. He, as always, was trying to protect her. And now Jinx has a new voice in her head, and it is pure, where she now draws strength from is the only voice that gave her peace of mind. As an aside, congrats on finishing the series, and would love to see a review of the things you guys picked up the second time around. Kinda like how Jinx literally disarmed Silco the moment she hugged him. Cheers.

I somehow never realized that, while the rest of Jinx’s hallucinated voices are scratchy and hard to decipher, Silco’s voice in her head is clear and is the first positive supporting hallucination she has. I wonder if this will stay this way or if it will become distorted over time. I feel like it almost certainly will be distorted, but I wonder whether it’ll be changed to be more supportive or negative.

19:16 *This part is confusing but it took me many watches (and some frame by frame) to finally piece it together. Silco took the gun and fired at Vi and just missed her head. Jinx's instinctive reaction to protect Vi caused her to shoot Silco. Cause I'm sure many people, myself included, got confused on the first watch and thought Jinx just lost it and sprayed her minigun everywhere and bullets accidentally hit Silco.*

In this episode, Silco finally sees why Vander did what he did as Vander wouldn't trade his kids with anything even if it's means Zaun would won the war, Silco now value the person he loves which is Jinx above everything else even those things that he stand for for his entire life. he would trade the world for her like how Vander would trade anything in order to protect his kids which is so sad. Silco is actually one step behind of becoming Vander 2.0. also i can't get over how im so upset and sad that he died, he can do so much more for Zaun! and he's like the only guardian angel to Jinx while the entire world is against her which is make it even sadder! don't you guys ever feels guilty for feeling sorry/loves Silco.

The Tales of Runeterra are a perfect transition from Arcane to the cinematics. Each cinematic gives you a glimpse into each country of the Arcane show, including Piltover/Zaun and Noxus. The Jinx music video is a good starting point for the extensive Riot music productions.

I looked at the dinner scene at 0.25x speed. When Cait has that machine-gun pointed at her and says drop the gun, Jinx has a moment when she looks like she's about to do that, but then grips the gun again. Vi realizes what she's doing and says "no, please", and then Jinx hears a whisper saying "it's time to leave them", at which moment she points the gun at Cait, BUT DOESN'T FIRE, and THEN Cait shoots and purposefully misses her. Now think about this: in her fight with Ekko on the bridge, after he hits her a few times, we see the old, scared Powder come out...she has this look of regret on her face, she unleashes the grenade, with the purpose of killing herself and Ekko. There is hidden part of Jinx that resents what she has become, and wants to end the whole thing, by killing herself. When Vi tells her "no, please", because she knows Jinx will challenge Cait, Jinx has a moment when she looks down, and has the same look of regret she had on the bridge. She hears the "it's time to leave them voice" in her head. So she makes the decision not to hurt Vi by killing Cait, and instead end the torment by killing herself. That's why Jinx doesn't fire, just raises the gun and screams. But Cait doesn't kill her! I think that is the critical moment in the Vi/Jinx relationship! When she sees that Cait doesn't kill her, when she had every motive to do so, she understands why Vi chose Cait, that Cait is not the typical enforcer that killed her parents, and that she is a fundamentally good person, something that Jinx HAS LOST ALL HOPE OF BECOMING. I think that is the moment she realizes that if Vi is connected to Cait and shares her values, than she is completely lost to her, because Vi will NEVER be able to reconcile who Jinx has become. The tragedy of Jinx is that she would never hurt Vi. After Cait doesn't kill her, she cannot pull the trigger and kill her, because that would hurt Vi. When Silco fires the gun at Vi, she kills him. So what makes her finally embrace Jinx, is the fact that she killed the person who believed in her unconditionally, while saving the one she loves the most, but now knows will never accept her for who is is. When she sits in the Jinx chair, she does it because she understands that the abandonment which began in ep.3, is now complete.

I personally don't think so. At the moment Jinx fired the gun, you can see that he shot both Silco and Vi, but Vi dodged it. Silco was still holding the gun, so he couldn't dodge (you can see the holes on Vi chair in the following scene). So, Jinx basically lost her mind in that moment. She didn't care about who she shot. She just fired the gun to free herself from the mental problem she suffered. (Sorry for my bad English)

Welcome to the "I gotta wait HOW tf long!?" therapy group, alongside the "Why aren't my other friends as hyped about this!?" support center. It's also my fave show in years. I would've enjoyed a war in the finale but I love how intimate this climax was, especially since we've seen how big of a payoff huge battles can be like Avengers Endgame was set up. My theory is that the council dies except Jayce, Viktor, and maybe one other. But Mel's dead (feel like they wouldn't set up a scary ass mother and give her a happy ending). And season 2's probably gonna focus only a little on Piltover + Zaun (since Hailee's still involved) but push them towards Noxus or another region for help with a developing war. I will say that one of the most impactful moments in the whole show is the emotional transition from episode 3 to 4 with the time jump between characters, so I'm hoping they fulfill something similar to get us invested in any new main characters next season. Since y'all likely saw some cinematics by now too, hopefully you're just as relieved as I became because they somehow managed to get me invested in characters within a 5 cinematic. Also losing it thinking that Carlie would punt Heimer without question.

I like the theory that because Mel was able to sense something was up, and her backpiece glowed that she's actually a secret magic user so I think she may save jayce. Personally I think Viktor may survive as well but with terrible injuries leading him to look more like he does in game. They also teased his laser earlier in the series so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Viktor and Jayce are protected by plot, they have many other things to achieve, because they are characters in actual game. Mel may survive because of her backplate - the way it did glow and what sound it made, distinctly reminds of Zhonyas Hourglass effect (the in game item, that is able to place its owner into some sort of stasis). Some speculate about Caitlyns mom surviving, because she is still kinda playing her part in future life of her daughter (according to official in game biography), but it may be easily changed without too much harm to the overall logic of what is happning in this world. Season 2 hype, has never been more invested into anything like this for years :D

In game jinx uses a mini gun pistol and rocket launcher yeah. The rocket from the end is meant to look like her 'ultimate'. It's def not just fan service but when they do work in the stuff from the games it's really smart and serves the story well. Ie jinx vs ekko was a clever reference to what ekko is able to do in the games (probably with the technology he's shown working on with heimer at the very end).

This must be the most genius show of all time. Characters, amazing. Plot, amazing. Execution, amazing. Animation, amazing. Voice acting, amazing. Music, amazing. EVERYTHING about this show was 10/10. And it's also ingenious the way the make use of cliff-hangers, and execute them perfectly. They've caused half the planet to be obsessed about this show, by giving no closure, people are gonna want more which is an ingenious way of marketing for their other content as well. Absolutely, amazing. Also it's so re-watchable due to the sheer quality of this show, even tho you know what's gonna happen, it still hits you emotionally, and even harder even tho you know what's happening. And there's ton of hidden Easter eggs, hidden lore around the show for anyone who is willing to dig deep. It took 6 years from the first idea at Riot Games to make a series, to give us this series. They had a lot of issues that had to be solved, they didn't have good contact with Hollywood for actors, Fortiche the animation studio has never done a TV series before but loads of their short animations so there was a big learning curve to. But now they have those connection, they have streamlined the work progress which is why they cut down 6 years to 2 years. I'd prefer only 1 year for the next season, but with this kind of quality I can understand it takes 2 years. Hopefully they can become even more effective with their work and for season 3 it will only be 1 year. This is a new era of animations, Riot have set a new bar. I can see a new cinematic universe, tons of series and movies in the world of RuneTerra. This decade is going to be amazing. Everyone stay healthy and take care of yourself and your loved ones, make sure to live healthy and long just to experience this amazing time in our lives.

The most heart-breaking thing in this episode for me is the scene right before the rocket hits. The council gets over themselves and the peace vote passes, then Jayce and Mel look at each other across the table and you can see in the angle of her lips that she's genuinely, fully smiling at him - in that moment she finally discards the emotional armour (along with all of the other of her family's teachings) that she's been wearing the entire season. And then Jinx goes like: sike.

For me the biggest difference between Vi and Silco considering Jinx is. Vi loves who Jinx was, aka Powder. Where as Silco loves Jinx unconditinally even after she kills him, he still loves her with out conditions I love Silco as a character, yes he was a bad guy, but he had noble intentions and he really loved Jinx and tried to do what he thought was best for her, even if i didn't always agree with how he raised her. You could tell he did what he thought was best for her. Of course this is the best part of this show IMHO, everyone is shades of gray, everyone does good things and everyone does bad things. Everyone is shaped by their past for good and ill. I strongly recommend checking out Geogia Dows youtube channel she has some very interesting break downs on the characters. I think you guys will especially like her Silco/Jinx and Vi/Jinx ones, even if you don't react to them I recommend checking them out. look forward to your recap video.

Silco "killed" Powder where do you get this he thinks both are perfect... You Silco fans certainly like to twist things to fix his "perfect" parent perspective. He is a man that projecting his own untreated trauma, took in a young vulnerable girl. and nurtured her ptsd and let her become a san unhealthy person... He does love her I'll give him that, but even as a parent he failed. Instead of prviding her the help she needed to heal he pushed more into the abyss of the neglect she felt from Vi "abandoning" her. Thats not how good parents should ever act. His love reminds me of GoT and that "The things I do for love" quote

Such an amazing show, glad you enjoyed it as much as I did! And I have to aggre with Ange about Silco. He wasn't a good man, BUT he did everything he thought was right for Zaun and Jinx, even if that meant he would be the "bad" guy in the end. He and Vander methods are complete opposite to one another, but their love for their daughters is really similar especially at the end. He would sacrifice his dream, that he wanted his whole life to save Jinx, just like Vander did back then for VI(and for the rest of the kids). I can't wait for Season 2 but I REALLY hope they take their time with it, we dont need a rushed show. If they make it "only" with a similar quality and care like season 1 then I'm good 😃 And who knows after the Piltover&Zaun/Jinx&VI Arc is over maybe they will explore the other regions too.

Basically the weapon she used at the end is called Fishbones and she was basically using her ultimate from the game at the end. “Super mega death rocket” and the further you shoot it the more faster and destructive it gets. That explains the pick up in speed while it was in the air.

Vi is the hero of the series.. but she is also the source of Powder's torment.. and always has been. Even when they were just kids, their specific family dynamic meant that Vi was still the ultimate source of Powder's torment. The first example of this comes in the very opening scene. Vi and Powder were obviously left behind during the battle, so they would be safe.. like who brings two little kids to a battle, right? Vi is leading Powder by the hand.. Powder is supposedly covering her eyes (though the visualization of the scene tells us clearly that Powder is peeking through her fingers and absolutely sees the violence and death, even witnessing the enforcer murder someone point blank)... Why were those two children on the bridge, especially an extremely vunerable and impressionable young kid like Powder, who is clearly deeply traumatized by the experience? BECAUSE VI. Vi is leading her there, even though they were likely told to stay away... she couldn't even go herself and leave Powder at home.. she led young Powder onto that bridge.. it is Vi's fault that Powder had to experience that visceral violence and see her parents lying dead in the road. One aspect of this from their older childhood: Powder always tries desperately to make Vi proud and live up to their specific idea of strength and capability, but never could, because Powder's skills were not ones that the group valued. Even when trying to make Powder feel better... "They never work".. "but they WILL"... enforced that assertion... Powder ISN'T good enough for the group, but one day MIGHT be.. a bit crushing to a young kid that already has deep-rooted issues of self-worth. Another aspect that almost everyone overlooks: Shit rolls downhill, and Vi was constantly lumping shit on Powder's tormentor, Milo. Everyone pointed to it as fun-loving teasing among siblings, but that isn't how it works in that sort of dynamic. Fun-loving teasing is when everyone rips on everyone else as a show of affection.. one member says something, and the other immediately cuts back with a counter insult. I am intimately knowledgeable of that sort of upbringing, because that is how my home life was.. we valued quick-witted comebacks, and constantly ragged on each other, fully expecting to be blasted out of the water on the rebound.. it was lighthearted and fun-loving, and we all became sharper minds for it (and thicker skinned, because every insult imaginable was already de-fanged through the process) and we all bonded through that experience. However, when it is always directed from certain specific group members towards others, that isn't fun-loving teasing... that is shit dumping. Their group was a CLEAR hierarchy. Vi and Claggor almost on equal footing, earning tons of respect in the group, but with Vi always asserting her dominance over Milo, and him never actually getting any comebacks or any release other than his dominance over Powder. A prime example of this coming when Milo says "One day I'm gonna shoot one of them down!" and enjoying a moment of, if you will, power fantasy.. a simple thought of one day being a capable warrior with actually good aim (he uses a gun symbol, and he is a ridiculously bad shot, remember) and taking down the airship. But Vi cannot allow him to enjoy this moment, and slaps his hand away, reminding him that he is lesser in her eyes. And, because shit rolls downhill, Milo passes that dominance assertion onto Powder, constantly reminding her that she was lesser in his eyes. The question, of course: Did Vi bully Milo because Milo bullied Powder, or did Milo bully Powder because Vi bullied him? Knowing what I do about the way bullies work, my bet is on the latter.. meaning that VI was always the ultimate source of Milo's mistreatment of Powder, at least from the context within the group. In the final sequence, Vi shows that she doesn't actually understand Jinx, and the torment she endures. For one, she refuses to recognize that Powder is Jinx now, always calling her Powder instead and refusing to accept Jinx.. reminding her that the one she loves and cares about ISN'T who she is, but who she WAS. Crazily, this mirrors the "they WILL work" comment earlier, which reminded her at that past moment that she ISN'T good enough but MIGHT become good enough... and now she's asserting the flipside.. that she ISN'T good enough, but WAS good enough in the past. Also, in an attempt to ground her and reach through to her, she mentions all of the family members, thinking it would soothe and comfort to remember happier times with the family members she accidentally murdered, or her parents who were brutally butchered, or her sister, who slapped her and abandoned her to a psychopath.. not realizing or even seeming to notice that the very mention of those past traumas is actively hurting Jinx and tearing her to pieces. In the end, it is clear that Vi doesn't love Powder.. she loves the memory of Powder, and that is ultimately what drives what little is left of Powder to fully embrace Jinx.

Nice review! I like the complexity of the characters. They have depth. For example, Silco is a villain but they spend time fleshing out his character instead of just making him some one dimensional evil guy. His true love of Jinx is a nice touch. Ironically that is my biggest issue with him in a way. People think that because he loves Jinx, he is not a bad guy or even a hero of some sort. Nah, it made him seem worse to me because he ended up being one of those hypocritical rulers who ask the people to sacrifice for the cause but when it comes time for them to do so, they decline. It is actually selfish. And his love of Jinx is a bit of a selfish love in a way, not a healthy love. SO yeah in summary Silco is a loving but bad parent (yes you can be both) and a hypocritical/selfish revolutionary. As for the council, well I imagine Jayce and Viktor survive since they are champions in the game. Catelyn's mom... well I don't know how much they want make Arcane canon and tie into the actual LoL lore. But there could be a reason to keep her alive. I think Mel is alive also because I feel they wouldn't have spent developing her character late only to kill her off. And I'm pretty sure her glowing golden jewelry (at the end) is some sort of protective artifact. But I figure the rest of the council can be toast and will be hardly missed. And yeah totally agree that dinger's actions are benign. I suspect he's going help Ekko make the z-drive (Ekko's special ability in the game)

The rocket launcher she used is called " Fishbone". In the game the "Fishbone" actually have glowing orange left eyes. I think it represent Silco to her. She would talk to " Fishbone" in the game and get frustrated by the made up conversation cause "Fishbone" seems to advise her safer suggestions like Silco did. I like the small detail they hint to us.

Wait i just realized something. In the show vi says powders good with her gadgets which are technology. And vi gift is fighting which is her physical strength. Vi is pink and jinx is blue. When vi gets hextech golves which are technology jinx gets shemer which inhances you're physical skills. Hextech is blue shemer is pink. A little bit of powder exist in vi and little bit of vi exists in power. Like yin and yang. Also vi wearing the hextech can remind vi how powder used to be and shemer can mean powder finally became strong like her hero.

So, here's the thing about Powder/Jinx's psyche in terms of the people who cared about her all through her life.... Mylo (and to a lesser degree Claggor) mainly saw Powder in terms of her faults. Young Vi cared for Powder in terms of who she could be (e.g. you're ready / you're not ready, wanting a better life for Powder, etc). Older Vi cared for Powder/Jinx in terms of the person she used to be and that she lost. Meanwhile, it was only Silco who accepted Jinx "as is" (as opposed to "as she was" or "as she could be").

silco only accepted powder cause he knew he could turn her into jinx; he knew he could manipulate her enough to turn her into something valuable for his cause. he is a fundamental part of the reason jinx exists. what is sad is that jinx actually NEVER had a choice in that matter, she is a product of neglect and abandonment, not only from vi and silco, but from piltover as well. she is s product of a toxic, harmful environment.
