I remember lol I was in my P.E class during attendance listening to who would be the finalists and was a nervous wreck waiting for Albania to be called and freaked out in joy in front of my friends and classmates with a relived yess! Albania was a surprise only for people who are deaf and know nothing about music. They had the best performance of the night (after Cyprus ofc) absolutely flawless and made the whole public in shivers. What did Belgium, Greece or Azerbaijan do to deserve the final? They completely sucked. Honestly. Azerbaijan was already written off for the final as they had a horrible bad song. I woudnt say Lithuania was a surprise too.

This BBC guy cracks me up. He seems to know that people at home, who voted for the qualifying acts, would be disappointed with some of the qualifiers, Meaning Albania :) . So happy for Ireland and Albania! When I was watching the SF, I wanted Albania to qualify and I thought they could, but not that it would. Like I still didn't expect them to. So I was so happy for them that they made it out of such a strong SF. And I DEFENITELY didn't expect Ireland to qualify (even tho the staging lifted the song up), like everyone ruled them out, gave them no chance, and I was happy for Ryan and for Ireland that they qualified after some years in the wilderness!
