Oh Jared joined them? It'd be nice to watch KF without hosts being casuals who play too many games but are okay with how trashy the industry is. I stopped watching when Danny O'Dwyer left because of how irredeemable Tim is as a host. Plus they like Destiny 2 which says a lot.

"Is Yoshi a cannibal?" The answer did surprise me, it seemed like Brendan was on to something during the 2001 A Space Odyssey-like amount of time I got to consider how the shot was held but the ending was inconclusive. Did he consume the other Yoshi or protectively hold him in his mouth like some animals do knowing Mario was out to get them all killed? Jared I'm halfway through Hop, Blip and a Jump (still haven't gotten to 20 Questions yet), good on you for putting it together, depression for me has always been a frustration of not being able to experience joy I know I'm capable of and at it's worst no hope of experiencing it again. I didn't want to finish the video yet becuase I'm trying to complete Darker Side, I wouldn't say it's giving me joy in every moment ;) but the joy the game has given me and my family is helping me persist. Keep up the good work everyone.

One reason why emulated games is a good way to protect games from being lost forever is because old disks deteriorate very quickly. Many PS1 and Saturn games have holes in the disk now that prevent them from working.

There's sort of a remaster for Fallout 3 already. If you have an XBox One X, it has a 4K patch that makes it look a lot better. It's not like a full remake like Shadow of the Colossus for PS4, but it's a nice improvement over the standard game. And it's free! (if you have a One X, that is)
@2011zbjr6 жыл бұрын
Ten Of Diamonds that game didn't age well it's just gonna look like skyrim remastered aka the 2012-2014 version still ugly so yea not worth $500
@tenofdiamonds64406 жыл бұрын
Wait, so you're saying that there might actually exist a person that would spend $500 JUST to play Fallout 3 in a higher resolution? No, man. It's a free upgrade IF you have an XBox One X and still have Fallout 3 laying around. I'm not advocating people run out and buy a One X just for that. I'm saying if you have it, there you go. I thought that was pretty obvious...

With regards to the video games not necessarily being fun, I do think there's definitely a case to be made there, and that there's a lot of games that I play largely for reasons other than them being fun, e.g. the example you guys named: The Last of Us. Having that said, I do find the combat sequences in that game to be "fun", and I think that's what they're intended to be; they're just not main reason I like or played that game. Video games are a hybrid medium, and I guess that's what makes this conversation interesting. Having that said, the thing I take issue with is distinguishing games people play because they're "challenging" from those that people play because they're "fun". Dark Souls is a game that I think Sam brought up in the past as an example of this. In my opinion, Dark Souls is one of the most "video gamey" games I play, and the main thing I like about it is that it's "fun". It does a lot of other things well (mostly atmosphere), but those other things aren't why I play it. Dark Souls kind of sparked a new trend of difficult video games, but video games being difficult isn't new in and of itself. For me at least, old Mega Man games are much harder than Dark Souls. I think they are intended to be difficult, as well, and I like that about them! Are they not "fun"? I guess what I'm getting at is that, at least for me, a large part of why I think games are fun is because they are challenging. Obviously they can be challenging in ways that aren't fun, but they certainly aren't mutually exclusive ideas.

The ROMS online are important. I see where Sam is coming from though. He said that keeping ROMs in a database isn't a great idea anyways and that the cartridges are what matter. General statement of course. Having physical copies matters of course. The truth is that eventually those cartridges will degrade to the point of failure. Keeping these as ROMs can and will preserve them for far longer. In my opinion, the ability to maintain the MMO server(s) with its technology should be turned over to the museum. The important part is that it can only be brought online 10 years after the game ceases its service. This can be extended to 25 years if requested by the company, at which point it has to be allowed to be brought online for historical purposes. We take the rest of media so seriously when it comes to preserving it. I don't know why the gaming industry lags behind. Cinema doesn't play around.

Nothing odd there i mean Detroit Become Human was revealed back in 2012 and still there's no release date lol
@johnmorris84096 жыл бұрын
The "Kara" PS3 tech demo was shown off in 2012 (The same year Quantic Dream released Beyond: Two Souls on PS3) but Detroit: Become Human (which is based on the Kara demo) wasn't announced until October 2015 at Paris Games Week. Detroit was definitely announced too soon, but we've seen it consistently at industry events (way too much if you ask me). Crackdown, however, had a decent showing at Gamescom 2015 where Microsoft had the gameplay reveal with the destructibility and even some in the press were able to go hands-on. After that though, it went away for almost two years until E3 2017 where they showed very little of the game, without destruction and nobody in the press was able to play it. What was showed didn't look nearly as promising as Gamescom 2015, and if they had something better to show, I believe they would have shown it. I really don't want the game to be bad and hopefully, I'm wrong about it. Also, I'm not convened that Detroit isn't another Beyond: Two Souls, which was not very good.
@goofed866 жыл бұрын
Detroit was announced way before 2015! It was even called Detroit: Become Human back when we saw the Kara tech demo in 2012. I know because i've been waiting for it ever since so it's been in production for a long time now and we still don't have a release date. The point is Crackdown 3 being delayed for only about a year now is nothing in comparison.
@johnmorris84096 жыл бұрын
I really thought Detroit was announced at PGW in 2015. My mistake. Hopefully, it will get a release date soon, I'm thinking May or June.

Nintendo: Pokemon, Metroid prime 4, super smash bros, a 2D super mario bros game, Bayonetta 3, no more heroes 3, Yoshi and a 2D Zelda game. I also think there won’t be any 3DS games.

Bethesda: Rage 2 or perhaps a Rage remaster - it'd be nice to play Rage without the texture pop-in. If not that a new IP from ID which was converted from the DOOM 4 that never was. I'd kind of like DOOM 2 to be a solar system tour, travelling to different planetoids in the system. Sony: Ghost of Tsushima with a 2019 date on it. When the 1st Hobbit film came out they hadn't worked out the design of Smaug and afterwards they changed Smaug from having 4 feet to 2, then they changed the design in the first film for the DVD/Blu-ray Duke Nukem Forever perhaps the ultimate example of feature creep and a disappointing sequel. A prediction unlikely to occur would be a Game scoop with 2 men & 2 women
