Hello guys, in today’s video, we will be looking at some of the first items in the history of World of Warcraft.
When you play the game - whether it is Classic or retail - you encounter tons of different items of different types all the time, and I thought it would be fun to try to go back to the beginning and see what the very first item was, the first epic, the first consumable, quest item etc. Not only out of curiosity, but also to get some insight into that part of the development of WoW, and see if it fits into the bigger picture of the creation of the game.
The way I have determined how “old” an item is, is by looking at its id number. Every item has an id in WoW, and the lower the id the “older” it appears to be. The method of using ids to determine the age of an item might not be 100% accurate in all cases, but it is the best method we have, and based off the research I have done and my experience it is very accurate. There is no way of getting complete clarity unless it is confirmed by Blizzard, so just keep in mind that my use of the word “first” is based on the id number.
For the video, I have gone through a list of approximately the first 3000 obtainable items with the lowest ids in Vanilla WoW, and I have picked out the most interesting that fit the criteria of being first in some way.
I hope you will enjoy the video.
