I know, but things change, ideas that might be current now are thrown out the windows in a month. Game development can be very turbulent. The best thing I'd tell you to do is to find out who might be the artists for the games, even sometimes the designers and follow them on twitter or Artstation etc. Not all will post things related and understand most would be bound to an NDA. But that's just art and design, the real issue is usually internal politics be it between designers/directors or the publisher, even feedback can flip whole projects upside down. The Embracer Group is pretty cagey, but Saber is well known and has whole teams of artists that interact with fans online etc.

Because we, the gamers, are an extremely toxic community. If they show us anything from pre-production, that is not going to be final, and in the final game it changes, we will be dissatisfied and hate on the game. It may come as a surprise, but we the people, cannot be satisfied :)

You can't show company confidential information to protect the intellectual property. If you were making a video game and you showed all your assets, people would just steal them or more likely form opinions of content that isn't finished and that's bad for PR if they don't like it initially or they do like it and it gets changed later in the development process

It all requires signing off from multiple parties which takes a long time. So it's easy just not to I guess... but they should.

Transparency on what they’re working on both takes away from the wow aspect of some features or enemies or whatever you want to input into that sentence, it also allows people to start figuring out ways to do shit like oh they’re making most enemies weak to fire so I should do the fire build and break a game like how Elden ring got broken by players until they patched and balanced it for pve and PvP separately, but most importantly for them it sets expectations and can hurt sales more than using the reputation and name of what they’re making or big money marketing schemes and videos made without gameplay or with higher quality test versions of the game before they lower graphics quality or cut content they intended to include. The expectations go further though with simple things like a mechanic they’re working on but it gets scrapped and causes people to lose interest because they were excited for a “open world crafting heavy rpg” that ends up being a hack and slash with small open world environments and no crafting

They’re making the New Republic completely foolish and it’s making the efforts of the Prequels and Originals pointless. On top of that they rarely show the classic 3 characters(Luke Han and Leia). If they focused on Lucas’s original vision(maybe mix in some Legends content), I would be more interested in the New Republic. Still I want more Old Republic stories.

Thank you for these updates; KOTOR and a few other games, KH2, got me into gaming. While I'm more excited about Exodus since that game may come out in the next 2 to 3 years and looks fantastic. In the perfect timeline, by some cosmic miracle, the rights to KOTOR would somehow revert back to the original Bioware team who reunite (like maybe under Humanoid Origin for example) to remake the game themselves, then merge with the original Obsidian team to create a KOTOR 2 remake with the restoration mod / the original vision for the game, THEN work together to create KOTOR 3 that follows up KOTOR 2's promised storyline!!! (no hate on TOR MMO, I thought it was super fun and awesome - just wasn't a fan of how it connected to KOTOR). One can enjoy fantasizing.

@@Valkyraw Because it was so many years later and I wanted to continue seeing the cast of both games again. I loved those characters. Not that it didn't make sense HOW the Revan book and TOR connected. It made total sense and was good (except how they killed off The Exile so easily). I would of preferred we see the true "lovecraftian-esque" sith right after the events of KOTOR 2 as they intended (look up a IGN article for more details). Granted, I guess the downside is that if you wanted to depict a full scale war, it would be hard because most of the Jedi were gone and the republic was still weak if I remember correctly? So even with Revan keeping most of their infrastructure intact it would still be a massacre. I think one of the Obsidian interviews mentioned though that their plans for KOTOR 3 was to have The Exile attempt to find Revan and take the fight to the Sith in the outer rim and explore conquered Sith worlds, NOT, a full scale war since Revan did a good job at stopping them somehow. I feel like between @100StarWars and my own research I should remember off the top of my head but I'm having a major brain fart atm and I have to get to work!

Ty Frank recently talked about the frustration of dealing with all of groups that you need to deal with to develop a Star Wars story. Cutting out the middlemen might actually be a positive if that’s the case. Though if they fall through, that could speed the end as there wouldn’t be anyone up stream to hand the project over to.

500 million is a lot of money to be sure, but a KotOR remake is also guaranteed to have a whole lot of people buying it. I think what it probably comes down to in terms of the final product’s potential quality is whether the investors are looking for a fast return or a slower but longer-lived return, because we all saw what happened when Disney tried to make the money from buying Star Wars back as fast as they could. Granted, I’m also not an economist.

Always found that such a weird idea of Respawn making even more SW titles. I’m all for SW dont get me wrong. But it felt like we were just making random game inserts at this point. With that FPS, the Ubisoft game and the Jedi franchise. All in the same somewhat boring time setting. Atleast Kotor is super original taking place when it does.
