I own this piece. Purchased it about a month ago, the moment it hit the stores. I have to say it is a terrific automatic gmt, that happens to be a stunner as well. My preferred size is 42-44mm and this is a very "compact" 44mm piece. It wears incredibly nice. The finish is top of the line and the bracelet is one of the most unique I've seen. It is a beautifully thought bracelet. Very happy owner here and highly recommend. I see so many here slamming the watch for being too large, or requiring monster size wrists. This is so false. I strongly suggest to try it on the wrist first before jumping to conclusion.

@@ollystone2314 Very accurate, even after two days on the counter barely any seconds lost or gained and on top 50 hour power reserve that perfectly suits what I need. Mechanism is the same they use for their Pepsi gmt, Caliber 9054.

Sinn U50 about the same thickness and 500m wr. The older Omega Seamaster (ie early/mid-2000s) have the same thickness and 300m wr. They're out there.

On the left side the button/ second crown at 8.00 ...it is meant to move the bezel. It's the same like on the Eco-drive Promaster radio controlled titanium that I bought last year. And the Promaster Diver's watch has 200m WR but it is actually over 650m, almost 700m as tests have shown.

I dig this watch except for the bezel. It looks like the base of it is mostly Skyhawk/Nighthawk design language - the case, bracelet and applied numerals seem to be the same. Pretty cool watch. Great video!

Excellent review. Firstly, *thank you* for not using the term "true GMT" when differentiating between caller and flyer GMTs. Second: I think Citizen missed the mark when sizing this thing - it makes my Seiko 5 Sports GMT look almost tiny, and 42mm is pretty much my maximum (7" wrist here as well), and while Seiko chose to go with a 24h bezel that *actually* rotates (along with a 24h rehaut, allowing one to track a third time zone if desired), Citizen gives you...A bezel that *looks* like it should rotate, but doesn't, along with an internal rotating bezel that's...truly useful to a relative handful of people. (Seriously...even a Telemeter scale would be a bit more useful than this.) I generally approve the direction Citizen (And associated brand Bulova) is going, so I don't wish to pour *too* Much cold water here, but I hope they calibrate things a bit for the next edition.

your analogies are amazing! I'm a little hurt about the mechanical watches being for collectors, and not having as much of a real world value..... even if maybe it's true 😂😂but see how I'll gloat about my watch still going great, when an atomic bomb goes off near all of us, and the EMP doesn't pop the circuitry in my fancy non quartz watch 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 I would say that having used a slide rule, that it is a good piece of kit. I travel to very remote parts of central Africa, A LOT. and having a quick calculator that I can barely read, when reliable power to charge your phone is much more difficult to get, is actually useful. BUT! obviously that's not a normal situation. I was however raised on metric, and now switching to living in the USA, has been a pain in the backside. the GMT function is also amazingly useful for having family in two time zones, and also since I travel a lot. excellent review though, your quips are on point!

I'm a huge Citizen fan and I own a 44mm Promaster diver but man if they want to get "enthusiasts" then they need to make this in 34mm with a Geneva seal movement, no I'm kidding, 42mm would be fine. Instead of prescribing high fat foods to your audience I suggest you prescribe some exercise and whatever diet is trendy now to Citizen. I'm not the problem, I'm the customer and like your wrist size, I'm always right.

I don't know why I don't have a Citizen piece in my collection that's over 40 watches now. I own 1 Bulova, 1 Frederique Constant, and 2 Alpina pieces which are under the Citizen umbrella. I have Seiko and Grand Seiko so I do respect Japanese watches. Citizen just hasn't resonated with me.

I was waiting for Citizen to release a mechanical JDM Nighthawk for more than a decade. And they still managed to completely mess it up. The case size is too big at 45mm, making the watch heavy and bulky especially in Stainless steel. Also why green lume instead of the promaster blue lume? And no micro-adjustment on the bracelet. The 24H bezel is ugly.

I don’t consider my self a collector, I buy the automatic watches because there is something special about the fact your movement powers the watches movement. I house movements are by far better than movements that are not, look at factories like Glashutte who make every single part in the same place the watch is put together by one person, less room for mistakes or dirt to get in the movement, the accuracy of these watch is better. It’s weird that you are pedalling this narrative.
