Very pleased with the way lewis is taking this series already. Hopefully he becomes proficient enough in create so he does have to be lead by the hand by barry and then can start to dictate the design of the create machines. You can already see that he cares a bit more about the presentation with the water wheel. Personally, i think the elaborate machines to make jaffa cakes is what will make this series.

I'm already getting flashbacks to OG Jaffa Factory where Lewis created the ultimate sorting/quarry system that basically just broke the Equivalent Exchange mod they were using to the point they had near infinite resources

Without him there'd be complicated machines? Do you forget Lewis's infamous lag machines? Like the one sky island playthrough where he made an entire system that didn't have chests so everything just was in an infinite loop in pipes.. in fact putting a chest on the line at one point ruined the whole factory.

you guys probably have a mod that speeds up things when you sleep. that mod is notorous for glitching out and getting 'stuck' on. it works by bruteforcing your random tick speed to a high value. to fix it, you need to run a command to put your RandomTickSpeed back down to **3**. this is why all your stuff is growing stupid fast. its a bug.

As the answer to you asking whether eating potatoes stop you from getting scurvy: YES , YES they do. Scurvy is just a really bad (prolonged) vitamin C deficiency. And potatoes do contain enough vitamin C to prevent you from getting scurvy. This in part was why potatoes became super popular in Europe when they were brought back from the America's. The Irish (peasants) survived for generations on almost only potatoes, butter and salt. (untill there were years where the potatoes all got fungal infections and were made inedible and then people starved massively)

If you want to copy and paste things using no power, create has a block called the schematicannon that can be used alongside downloadable schematics to print premade structures, including ones made in other worlds with creative mode. using it with a clipboard can tell you what resources you need, and you can reinsert the clipboard to update the materials list. using schematics does sometimes have issues with rotating depending on what blocks you use and how they are oriented.

If you want to build within chunk borders I suggest using F3+G keys. This will display a wire frame around each chunk in the world.
