This game is exactly why Ward should be in the HOF. WR isn't just about catching the ball. He had blocks, fumble recoveries, and still had great catches in traffic.

Giants fan here..when people talk about dual threat quarterbacks they always leave slash out of the mix..stewart was fun to watch

Slash Stewart was way ahead of his time, before NFL offenses figured out how to use a QB of his talents. He played in an era where game managing pocket QB's were preferred.

Giant fan too: I knew as a little kid watching Jeff Hostetler 1990 win a SB by adding that scramble dimension, where Bootleg could gain 15 yards if they DID cover the TE and WR on that side... Eagles Randal Cunningham beat my Giants with poor OL and playing Madden '92: The future is QBs who can run. Its just too hard to stop.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
Finally in 2021-2 the future has arrived. Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen playing eachother; you think you got it bottled up on 3rd and long, NOPE, here's a 17 yard scamper. It's Back Breaking for Defense, we did everything right, but our Middle LB in shallow zone can't catch him. Justin Fields suddenly making the Bears relevant. Tua. Jalen Hurts. Its ABOUT TIME. College Football Championships have been won by guys who can run since Vince Young 2005, Tebow 08-09, Cam 2010, Cardale Jones & JT Barret 2014, Deshaun Watson 2016, Trevor Lawrence.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
In the past, when High School coaches had elite athletes who could play QB; but also had a slow kid who could play QB, they'd turn the athlete into a WR and the slow kid his QB. Now, they tell the slow kid to gain weight and be in the trenches, or make him backup QB bench warmer, and develop the track star into QB, because he wins way more games.

I believe Aaron Smith and Hines Ward were the only 2 players left when they played the Ravens again in the 2008 AFC Champ. Game.

Dan Kreider was Ray Lewis’ kryptonite. He was the singular reason why Ray never did his usual damage against the Steelers. Note, this was Ray at his prime DPOY-level peak.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
Im not seeing #52 being blocked by FB in this game. The Steelers are just killing them in the air; and Ray looks slow. Must be hurt. The Ravens D looks tired. like the Steelers late 2007 when Tomlin stripped the bark off them in training camp; overworking them. It's a fact, #1 Defenses always always regress, it's just too hard to be great up front, great 2nd level, great corners, great safety play, guys hide injuries, guys come back 1/2 strength.

I think it's better we got rid of Stewart. Now he was good yes, but we would most likely not have Ben
@pathutchison98664 жыл бұрын
The next year Stewart got benched for Kent Graham of all people. That was kordells last year in Pittsburgh before he left for Chicago and eventually actually ended up in Baltimore as a backup. By 2003 it was Tommy-gun time. So, yea, it’s good that we got rid of kordell but there was a gap between him and Ben anyway.

Pat Hutchison no, Stewart took over for Kent Graham in 2000. He was completely exposed as year went on in 2001. I called Maddox would start over Stewart in 2002. Maddox had the talent-but he struggled with confidence. If only they had his 2002 play in 2001 playoffs

This game shows how games are fixed i dont care what anybody says even thou this game was played 20 yrs, its a dirty shame that brady is still playing he is goin on 21yrs. The reason im mad is i remember that game good because my mom past away early that may and i wanted the Steelers to make it to dedicate it to her but like zak hubbared said it the best when a team is on fire their on fire they played so dominate then flat out cold the next no im not buying it a rookie comes to Pittsburgh and wins you new they hade it for the patsies to win because we were going to war with iraq and if you look back then every time we were going to fight a little country they had the patraidiots to go to the SB gaaa alot people dont understand how the games are fixed

@steelers31724 жыл бұрын
I disagree lamar is faster with sharper cuts and has better vision running. Passing clearly Lamar is better his last season passing was better than any season kordell had.
@ItzYinzburgh4 жыл бұрын
The league has changed so much as far passing.. crazy to think Kordell set a Steeler record with 60% completion. Lamar is a far superior runner imo
@steelers31724 жыл бұрын
Itz Yinzburgh lamar had a 66.2 pass percentage and more than double his touchdowns and still almost half the interceptions kordell had. There is really no comparison Lamar is better all the way around passing and running kordell was good for Pittsburgh at that time to compliment the bus as a strong running team with that online though.
