LOVE seeing them all back together. Does anyone else notice how distant this sounds and feels now though? Obviously their still getting used to the setup, but the content has been feeling a lot less personal - like we're listening and watching a conversation from the outside as opposed to being a part of it ourselves. I think in emphasizing the wide angles and using lav mics (in order to show off the versatility and scale of their sets) it winds up making it feel like a Kinda Funny Panel at a convention rather than the real thing. Might be what they're going for or a new style. Either way not too much of a bother. I'm just really fascinated by the nuances of the production.

I kind of get that, too. It is interesting how having a bigger space feels less personal. And it's not just the fact that they aren't work from home anymore, because it wasn't this way in the old studio. That said, I probably felt this same way when they switched from the apartment to the studio, too, so it's probably also just a matter of time and adjustment to get used to this new normal (for them, too!). I do think for this particular podcast that has a set that looks like a living room, maybe they shouldn't go out to the wide sweeping shots so much though. Stick to the closer wide shot of making it look like a living room they're in, and just maybe the close-ups of when it shows two of them in the same shot. This podcast is really supposed to be just four dudes hanging out. It doesn't have to feel so PRODUCED. Save that for the In Review, KFGD, and any other special things they might want to do where the bells and whistles might serve the format better.

I think it is also the fact that we just got so used to having their faces/upper body only, on our screens, like we were all on a discord call together. So that's where it might feel were we part of it too, but now might feel like its us watching from the outside. Soon, it's going to feel weird to see the old episodes because they were on discord calls, and this set up is going to feel normal.

Totally feel you, but also agree that it isn't too much of a bother. I think for me it's the audio quality. The new setup is sweet as hell but I highkey wished they used the good mics and not these.
