They deserve all the respect. I had just a little swim in Svalbard fifteen years ago and I was thinking to die just hitting the water. But the colors, the smell and the taste of the water are just unbelievable.

Great wee film for the curious. There's a reason why Peterson & Naughton never ventured there though! As a Kiwi surfer since 1970 I can relate to those days where every surfer was a potential friend and not a rival for scarce resources. Portugal 1981 - surfed the coast North to South, saw only a handful of other surfers. SIC ruined surfing there, here, in Australia and Indo (from what I'm told) and etc etc - hope you guys can avoid it. Keep your secrets secret.

Lofoten was empty before Rip Curl showed up with it's Search or whatever. The lineup in the beginning of the video is crazy compared to NO ONE like before. Just one more place exposed to the world that was for so long a well kept secret.

Its gonna be harder and harder to keep a secret with the amount of people surfing nowadays.

a good surfing spot, really. But just thinking about that cold water gives me a headache. You need some john longs to take turns, because getting wet is definitely not an option.

Its really easy actually. Just fly to Oslo and then to Narvik/harstad and from there a 3 hour beautiful drive to Unstad, good roads.

there is that, yeah! Surfing is two sports (at least) - boardies in warm water, and everything else.

so.... I'm guessing the Surf Shop doesn't sell many board shorts ? 😂 Great video though. Frontier stuff.

One upside would be less "dangerous marine life" and coral reefs to smash against....🏄

Did you mean: don't want to throw it all away as shattered moments fall in vain, you pick up the pieces and say well I guess it's all it's worth like a dye of course if I told you how I feel - ?

Dude I live in San diego and would kill for a nice mellow scene with good surf. You guys are gonna have to get gnarly and be hard on outsiders. Protect what you got while you got it.

succinct, but non-factual. Likely the cleanest water on the planet right there.
