Fun fact, I am an ENTP and memes is what got me into MBTI.... there was a surge of mbti memes, and I did not understand them and I couldn't accept that. So I made a deep dive into what was MBTI, in a whole weekend I knew all about functions and about Jung, the multiple systems there are and I already had my own personal theories and how it all related to what I knew about neurosciences. But now I am cursed, because now that I know too much about it, MBTI memes are rarely funny, because I can see how inaccurate several of the stereotypes are, lmao.
@Roman-ji7iu3 жыл бұрын
Lol I got into it after seeing some of FJ's introvert sketches. He only has a few of those, but I noticed he had like 10 million 16 personalities videos. So I took the test & went from there.

@ammachar3 жыл бұрын
I remember getting into MBTI because of a video listing personnality types from the most common to the rarest. I tried to guess what would be my type but I was unsure so I decided to take the test. After that, I tried to learn the functions because I wanted to understand MBTI more in depth. For me, the main problem is that I sort of became "addicted" to typing people. Everytime I watch a movie or I read a book, I try to type the characters. I do that with my family, my friends or even strangers sometimes lol. It is kind of reassuring to put people in boxes... because it can give potential reasons to why they behave a way or another. And it's also satifying when your guesses end up "being right", at least for fictional characters (according to what most people think)
@RyuuRider3 жыл бұрын
@@thecommenter2711 Someone (KZbin/Kristin?) removed my comment, lmao. What the hey- But yeah, I agree!
@ammachar3 жыл бұрын
@@thecommenter2711 I totally agree with you. My guesses are not set in stone because it is really complex to type someone with accuracy, and the chances of someone perfectly fitting into one type are extremly low. When I started typing I noticed how nuanced it can be. I usually have some difficulties when typing family members and friends and I'm not a 100% sure about it. When it comes to strangers, I come up with a small idea but it's not really serious and it's kind of absurd because it is nearly impossible to have a clear idea if I don't actually know the person xD. In any case, I think personnalities are too complex to be described by MBTI. It is a theory, it can explain some behaviours and it can give big principles in some case but it can't fully define a person's way of thinking.

As an istp, I think the point that I will willingly speak in the morning is about an hour and a half after getting up. I had no idea this might be because of my personality type. My mother is ENFP and thinks it is a necessity for every child to cheerfully say good morning three minutes after getting up. It's the first big trial of the day--insufficiently good-natured and I will get in big trouble. My Esfj big sister used to try and get me out of bed with impromptu motivational speeches. I learned how to sleep through them. My INFP sister would sing me awake... The only time I will get up before eight is if I know nobody else will be up. Sometimes I'll go ride my bike at 6:00am. That's ideal because I don't need to seriously interact with my family until at least an hour and a half later.

As a perfect middle ground between INFP and ENFP, that is so accurate. I wake up and put on a gratitude/self worth affirmation youtube and then go back to sleep while listening to it. Wake up, go back to sleep, wake up, go back to sleep . . . have weird dreams while the affirmations are playing where there are other people are around and I'm trying to turn off the affirmations on the stereo out of embarrassment . . . but no matter what I do (turning all the knobs! unplugging the damn thing from the wall!) it won't turn off! @MoPoppins3 жыл бұрын
If you were willing to experiment on a non-essential or non-critical day when you didn’t necessarily have something on the line, try employing the power of INTENTION. Before going to bed, go over the scenario in your mind, then commit to it in your body that you WANT to wake up at a certain time and be completely rested & refreshed, and EAGER to start the day. To make it easy on yourself, schedule yourself an activity you genuinely enjoy & look forward to. If/when you nail this, move on to activities that are “have-tos.” If you’ve established muscle memory for what it feels like in your body to WANT to wake up, rather than resist it, you may be able to condition yourself to wake up about 5 - 10 min. before the alarm goes off. It’s uncanny, but somehow, the body seems to know that it’s 6:30am, even if you normally wake up later. I don’t know if ENFPs use GUIDED VISUALIZATION, but that’s what you’re attempting. If it’s feasible, it’ll be a really powerful tool in your life. 😉 👍
@MichaelGrundler3 жыл бұрын
ISTP here and I can totally relate. I usually have three or four different kinds of alarms: automated white lights and music to prepare me for the main alarm(s) on my phone and to keep me from falling asleep again once I woke up. But I still manage to sleep through all of that occasionally. The problem is that my brain recognizes the pattern in the recurring alarm sounds and learns to ignore them, because „sleep is more important than meaningless (i.e. old and familiar) sensory information“. I therefore have one or two special alarm sounds that I only use in rare occasions when I really have to get up on time. The funny thing is, in unusual circumstances (alarm set to a different time, sleeping in an unfamiliar environment, different alarm sound, etc.) I often am awake instantly and sometimes even minutes before the alarm. Unless I’m sleep deprived which happens. By the way where do I get such a bed shaking alarm? I always dreamt (pun somewhat intended) about having something like that because that might actually work. 😅
