INTPs and ISTPs are natural allies. Interesting IRL story: I am an INTP and my wife is an ESFJ. She is quite assertive and loving, obsessively so. She wanted to marry immediately. The problem was that we had only been dating 6 months and we were in college, young, she's an immigrant from Spain, the family is in Spain and we're in Colorado USA, she's traditional Spanish Catholic. So how do you convince her parents? ESFJs just know how to read people and she knew if I could get some time with her Dad that we'd hit it off. So Mami and Papi flew in and she sent Papi and I off to tour the area and she gave me a list of things to mention but none of them were relationship oriented. After about 2 hours roaming we came back to my apartment where the girls were. She asked her Dad what he thought of the tour and he actually instructed her that she needs to stop wasting time and we need to plan this wedding because I was a good man to marry. He and I were already putting together a project to work on. I don't know what I said but we are the best of bros. Her dad is an ISTP and her mom is an ESFP.

We met in college. :) She often doesn't know how to deal with me. 😀 She hid from me for a while until I made it abundantly clear that I liked her. My wife would say, "She succumbed to my charm." [Her words not mine] She would say that she recognized that I was committed to her and that I wasn't messing around with her heart. It's not easy. We often struggle with communication. I hurt her feelings with my bluntness and I have to pull out of her what is going on in her heart. All in all, I think it has made us better and more rounded people. I have to say that none of this would be possible if we weren't for Christ. He has made us better people, able to forgive, and more open to learning each other. The INTJ - ISFJ one is basically every pretty much all the irl conversations I've had, especially with my mother. Me just dying inside after talking passionately about some topic I've put a lot of thought into and am excited about just to get a complete non-answer or obvious "I'm not really listening to you" comment. Or interruptions about some complete tangent (like the toothpaste thing). These sorts of conversations just drain me. The death stare was very on point. I can totally relate to the experience you describe in my conversations with my mother. She can't bare deep conversations on history, facts, morals or my questioning on everything, so she brushes them off as if she didn't listen to a single thing said. She just randomly says something trivia and surface or if I insist, she just says she has no answers and remains unrelated. Only that I am an ISFJ and she is an ESFJ. In my circle of family and friends I have been the closest to the INTJs because they are the ones I can have actually interesting conversations with. Ok time for a wild Dear Kristin's Cinematic Universe Nessay deep dive that will hopefully make Meg (and Kristin) proud. *Brad and Becky* So we know Becky is not the only INFJ in the DKCU. There's one Samantha who tried to date a Tim ESFP in "Interacting on Valentine's Day". An Olivia in "Two types in the workplace". There's also a male Fred INFJ in "Valentine's Day" who asks out the Not-Dog-Park-Girl ISFP. Brad is also not the only ESTP. I'm pretty sure Becky lives with a roommate ESTP Jerry (+ all other 14 types lol); the ESTP is called Larry in "16P Getting Arrested", furthermore there's an ESTP Amy in "16P Interacting as Newscasters". It's hard to tell them apart though because no matter their identity or gender, for some inexplicable reason they all look quite identical 😏 So, given how many dating skits there are, I think it's possible to assume that anytime Becky or Brad are not mentioned by name, it's not them. The alternative would be to assume that Kristin hasn't really thought this through with her inferior Ni. Buuut, both would be lazy alternatives. Let's try to piece this together somehow. I do find the INTJ's idea of transcendental realities quite realistic but won't acknowledge it for now. In any case, the first dates of Brad and Becky go terribly wrong. Brad is just... too bold and brash for Becky. In fact, "How to make INFJs feel loved" may be directly made for him. 😉 Without further ado: Assuming that Kristin's videos are not chronological, one timeline from Becky's perspective might be: Brad and Becky first meet in this video. She has previously been set up by the ISFJ and ENFP in "Valentine's Day", who both ultimately decided against Boo and tricked... um no, "persuaded" her to go not on a blind date, but on a speed date. This is due to her Fe wanting to please her friends, and because her relationship with the ENFP in "Dating Each Other" and the INFJ in "Dating Their Own Type (part 2)" didn't work out. Plus, the INTJ in "Around their Crush" never even got around to confessing his feelings and was instead busy slipping, on rainy days (jk). Becky's way of asking people out (16P asking someone out) evidently could be... improved. Maybe she could ask her cacti for advice. 😆 Thus, being desperate for true love~, she accepts. Here she meets Brad whom she immediately dislikes and rejects. Buuut she still remembers him, while Brad immediately forgets about her. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't find her dream partner whilst speed dating. Some time later, he coincidentally joins her in her marketing job (16p at a Winery where Jenna is the INFJ) or maybe she joins him, and they don't really talk to each other, but Becky keeps an eye on him while he doesn't notice her. Her initial dislike diminishes and turns into interest and admiration. Incidentally we also know she doesn't like her job, as she says in "Psyching Themselves Up in the Mirror". I'm not sure if her job is in marketing, but in any case it's connected to what Brad does officially. Unofficially, he's a criminal 😧 Then at the winery, they start talking probably after Brad "purchased" the grapes in the supermarket (scene with INTP). Becky doesn't remind him of their speed date where she so brutally rejected him and doesn't mention they work in the same large corporation (INFJs like being mysterious 😶🌫). Brad promptly asks her out on a date, which actually is more like attending a party with his mates. She gleefully and obliviously accepts the "first" date, which is actually their second one considering the speed date. So they go to the party on the same day where they play lots of beer pong (16p as friends, the convo between ESTP and INFP). Becky hoped for a traditional 1 on 1 romantic date so she is not happy of course, but Brad is. "At the End of a Bad Date", Brad says "So that was great, we should do it again sometime." and Becky lies "Absolutely." She tries to retract her words and reject him, but doesn't catch him down the street in time. So she decides to give him another chance. _I would like to state at this point that Brad is very casual with dates, and also not considerate or sensitive towards other people's feelings, if it wasn't obvious yet 😛. It's very much possible he's dating .... maybe not 16, but still multiple people at the same time as the subtitles say during the previous scene. After the end of this bad date, he doesn't even remember if her name is Becky or Becca (again 16p as friends, the convo between ESTP and INFP). Also on the next date that is coming up, he literally has "mates coming over in half an hour"._ So they end up on a second date where they play badminton with each other (16p dating their opposite type), which is her "literal nightmare". Despite all this, they become a couple. Being the idealist that Becky is, she can't help falling in love with what he _could_ be as a person. Also remember that by now, she's desperate to make a relationship work. But of course, like with her previous partners, it doesn't work out. 🥲 Becky's "way too slow to be her true self around him" (Through the Eyes of the ESTP). She also learns that Brad is one of the most wanted criminals in Australia (16P Getting Arrested). Since he's also the friend who is most likely to get arrested (16P as Friends), he breaks up with her to 1. keep her safe (let's just ignore the part where he has supposedly framed Becky in "Getting Arrested" 👀🤐) and 2. because he was never as much into her as she is into the ideal image of him she's created. My guess is, he likes her about as much as all his other dates. 😆 Now, this hurts Becky a lot and she is lamenting the breakup during the scene in which a different ESTP (Jerry?) tries to troll her in her room and sees her crying 😢 (16P on a Sick Day). I also suspect this is around the time she answers the questions in "16P Answer Questions about their Dating Lives", saying "He's with someone else now, but she'll never love him as much as I did..... do." and "[I will be dating again when my ex comes back to me]". So she's clearly in denial aaand also doesn't know about his polyamory. _It's also entirely possible this interview happens much much later during a time when she's single. I don't think it matters a whole lot where we place it in the timeline._ You can see in "16P Interacting at a Party" - which happens right after the breakup - that she has not moved on, that "her soul is crumpled in sadness", and that she is very much still in love with _her_ Brad. Since she created a dating profile on UrMyType (16p Writing Online Dating Profiles) even before they played badminton with each other, she tries to use the app to make him jealous. We know that at the end, Brad apologizes for not having been sensitive before and he (kinda) makes peace with her. He explains he's only on UrMyType to make friends and that he's not dating at the moment, which um... honestly I find pretty hard to believe sorry. But sure. _But hey, I hope you find someone you're compatible with, Brad (maybe the ISTP in "16P Dating Their Similar Type"?)._ After the party, the next scene is probably 16P Trying to Get a +1 for a Wedding. Becky rejects Brad's offer to be his +1, but still wants to go to Jared and Bethany's wedding and try to impress him and win him back. We don't know what happens during the Wedding, that's a video Kristin would still have to make, but I'm keen to watch Becky, an extremely reluctant Jill, and an ESFP (Kristin) acting as an ENTJ acting as an INTJ and an ISTP. 🤯 So yeah that is the puzzle piece that is still missing, hopefully I've covered just about everything else 😄 After the wedding, Becky seeks out more people and meets a Sean through UrMyType, whom she dates right after the "16P Getting Ready for a Date" scene where she tries to talk herself into being more realistic with her expectations, but that relationship also fails. (16P Texting Their Ex, a video that is only accessible through patreon or through a certain clue). But now she's started dating an ENFJ (16P Dating Their Similar Type) and it looks like that relationship might finally work out, since the ENFJ also reciprocates the psychoanalyses of Becky (16P Flirting)! Yay! *fingers crossed* 🤞 So that was fun! I probably misinterpreted some scripts, missed some relevant scenes... and I took more and more artistic liberty with each edit haha. I have no idea how dates or romantic relationships actually work, having never been on or in one. But I hope my timeline makes sense 😎 I wonder now how Brad's perspective could look like. Dating multiple people at the same time (one plot point I leaned quite far into) while being a high-profile criminal sounds like an exciting story with lots of potential, not that Kristin condones either 😅 I know that before dating Becky, he dated an ISTJ (16P Dating Each Other) but breaks up with them shortly after (16P Interacting on Valentine's Day). I do still hope the xSTP couple works out, they could be literally partners in crime. 😈 (How much time did I spend on this? Yes. Do I consider myself a hardcore fan of something for the first time ever? Yep. Do I have a life at the moment? Nope.)

1:49 As an ISTP with an INTP sibling I can confirm that this is how our interactions go. (When we aren't being siblings and trying to kill the other, that is) as for the food part. Yes. If I had nickle for every time I tricked them into doing something for me in exchange for food I'd be rich.

I'm an ENFP/J, and I have not had nightmares about small talk. And I totally would have been like the ENFP, finding something good in what they said despite not agreeing with them. And I thought the ESTP's interest in fun experiences and strategy were endearing. I wouldn't play paint ball with him without setting yp some ground rules first, so I don't have to go to the hospital, though.

That was fun! To see the origins of B&B, the IXTP duo, ISTJ's mum and the ESFP look was very cool actually, Kristen could pull this hair-colour off really well! ...but to be fair being an ISFJ with a lot of INTJs as my closest people analysing various matters and concepts for hours and having perfect connection, the only part I sympathised in this part was the pointing out of the toothpaste stain...sorry... And being a published author myself, I had a déjà vu because I had many conversations similar to their with my ESFJ mum trying to get any thoughts of her after reading my books and try to see if she caught any of the details, symbolism or philosophy in there.... but all I get is a very vague positive reactions without any actual deep thought in it...😢 For an author just a compliment without elaborated thoughts on the work isn't enough...

The INTJ is def relatable. Whenever I try to befriend anyone, I think "Great! Now I'll be able to have a deep meaningful connection with someone." But then they end up having literally no interet in any of the philosophical questions of life and my conversation topics go down to "Oh look how nice the weather is today."

Round 1: ESTP vs INFJ- Hey Brad's back! Glad that he checked in with great spirits. But, he's 28 going on a date- INFJ wins. Sounds like he'd be fun to hang with though. Just maybe not father/head of household material yet. Round 2: ENTP-ENFP Not a big fan of a lot of psychology cuz skeptical in how the psychologist benefits from the patients' continual suffering where it's like endless Confession without absolution, and I'm not saying Confession is a replacement for therapy, but, for an analogy, from an outsider cynical perspective, the mutual benefit can be observed where the person and priest is spiritually benefited, and there's the hope that the healed person may financially and physically support the church. Point is, upon first impression of the ENFP, makes me think there might be an exception if this is a continuation of the people pleasing you previously touched on, but maybe she just needs a friend, and if this conversation went on, I mean, great call back to the thinker vs feeler short, but uh, kind of a repeat of the previous round is she mother of children worthy? Going to have the strength to raise children spiritually, morally, mentally, and physically? Or is she just reading the ENTP really well, where he's the one really need in help because he kicked things off as coming across as so pompous argumentative for no reason so was being really, but then rain drops on roses so maybe he was reading her... uh oh gotta go ... ties are worse than losing, so there has to be a winner, and ENFP wins! Can't wait to finish! Hope you have a great Valentines' Day, Kristin! Still think of your last skit!

The INTJ one was too accurate. From leaving our stoic shell to rant about some deep, philosophical concept to the look of impatient concern when our words are met with half assed smiles and glazed over eyes to the multitude of expressions of crushing frustration in our arsenal that we deploy almost always on accident when we realize we’re talking to what essentially is a sentient block of wood with little to no introspective or abstract thought.

lol. again, I feel like we ISTPs are given a raw deal here . . . we can converse with strangers one on one without being rude, it's usually not a problem - it's just a matter of remembering we're in a social construct & follow the rules. True, a speed dating scenario would be off-putting & uncomfortable, but if we were forced into it, we'd probably fire off quick, single words & make a game out of it to see how the other side would respond. And yeah, we'd probably want to leave ASAP lol. but once again, you nailed the INFJ, my ex-wife, whom I recognized immediately, lol.

That was a super-fascinating philosophical rant from the INTJ, and it's uncomfortably familiar. I get that way when I'm working on a project. It took me a LOOOONG time to decide that i truly wanted to in a relationship with him (bless him he was very patient) and he also has mentioned that he had to wait a long time too and feel me out, and he asked a LOT of personal questions while getting to know me (which was....very strange at first but i eventually learned to love it.)

I like how although the stereotype of the INTJ is “evil supervillain,” your INTJ ultimately comes out with what’s actually a very Christian answer to the question of “what makes you a good person?” Christians are found among all types, despite the stereotypes that “certain types don’t believe.” My ENTJ dad is just as much a Christian as my ESTJ mom, very much despite the stereotype that religion is “an SJ thing.” -INFP
@ZTRCTGuy Жыл бұрын
Oh yes, I also disagree about the SJ thing. There are so many reason why people could be religious, since there're also so many religions out there but also types that want to hear some nice stories, want to believe in something greater than themselves or want to get away from logic at times (because let's be honest here, religion isn't always logical...)
