INTJs (2.5%) can learn self development and learn emotional intelligence and this will help them with others at work though: -Find INFJs and ENFJs (people high in emotional intelligence) and copy their style. - smile more (counter act the INTJ stare). - slow down when discussing your ideas- take people with you. If they understand, they won't misjudge you. (intuition makes leaps and some people struggle to follow INTJs). - compliment people more. - telling the truth is important, but pick your battles. Some people won't change, so you may be wasting your time. Also, the truth hurts and some people take things personally (particularly managers). - for every negative criticism, state two positives -Listen first. -Aim to gain rapport first before making your points. In the words of Theodore Roosevelt : “People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care” -More empathetic statements like, 'Sorry to hear that' (make sure you mean it) -Don't speak in paragraphs. Speak in sentences, giving the other person a chance to speak. Keep sentences short, particularly with sensor people, as they may find it difficult to make intuitive leaps - After speaking, ask 'does that make sense?' - don't ask the 'why' question. INTJs love this question but apparently the masses find the question too intense? Apparently it would be better to say, 'it seems like you are doing X this way, can you explain your thought process?' Gosh, the excess words really goes against everything about INTJ efficiency. LOL

The "J" in INTJ stands for Judging, not Judgemental. It isn't about the tendency to judge people. It's about our need to plan, employ structure and be decisive. It means we need a well-ordered outer world to truly flourish and keep our stress levels low. This is in contrast to the Perceiver/Prospector who don't value structure as highly and like to go with the flow. A young / underdeveloped INTJ might be judgemental, like many other types, but that's something they should grow out of.

I actually love all kinds of colors, and used to buy colorful clothes, but I'd inevitably outgrow the phase of liking/loving that color, and I also realized that for my skin tone, I need to stick w/ muted tones. Grayed-out hues and neutrals work best for me, and as someone who doesn't wanna be wasteful, my wardrobe can remain timeless. I've actually had people go out of their way to compliment me on how good black looks against my skin, so it's definitely not a "boring" or "safe" color. Not everyone is meant to wear brights. We all have colors and shapes and patterns that suit us best. AVOIDING the looks that don't flatter us, or clash w/ who we are, is key...and we often reach that through trial and error during our youth.

Oh my god. Thank you for this. As a fellow intj girl, this really hit. It’s so bad but sometimes I become so annoyed and out of place with my friends whenever they discuss boy stuff and it just frustrates me. I don’t get it. To me, they don’t appeal, are just a waste of my time and I’d rather study hard for myself. They come to me with all their problems and it’s so repetitive over and over again. I just say leave them it’s not that hard, they never take my advice and I have no patience. Saying that, I can cut off people so easily, if they’re a waste of my time, I just drop them without having to think twice. I am blunt and do not like to waste my energy on useless people. I analyze everything I see, and everyone I meet, to the point where i can read some individuals better than they can read themselves. I just decide to keep my mouth shut. Although I have absolutely no issue with being extroverted when the time calls ( etc. counsellor, leadership, etc. it gets so draining), I love being alone. If my friends don’t text me for a month or two, I probably wouldn’t even notice because I’m so preoccupied with myself. You’re right, we come off as cold, narcissistic, and extremely intelligent. INTJ’s keep their circle small, but real. Tie this in with my tarus horoscope and I’m loyal to the core.

I laughed out loud when you said we like to have a uniform. As an INTJ female of an advanced age, I admit that I have always looked for my uniform.(Styles chance, garments wear out!) Right now in my closet, I have three dresses of identical style in three muted colors. They are my favorite things to wear. Everything else causes anxiety of one degree or another. As a funny aside... some years ago I attended Weight Watchers meetings. We had a great mixed group of men AND women. I sat with the men. Yep. And when I moved away, I gave a short little farewell speech where I let everyone know that the guys were conducting interviews for my chair in the 'man corner'. Yep. It's real. We are weird. And rare. :-)

As an intj, I would say that If you're an intj and you don't fit on stereotypes of intjs and those all bullshit, then it's all right because there are only 16 mbti types and you don't have to fit 100% into that. For example - I love colors. I don't mind wearing things that aren't in black and don't have monochromatic pallets and it goes with many stereotypes as well as not having emotions, being effortlessly intelligent, being a narcissist, being rude, etc.

@@thelydshow I can't imagine a real intj making a youtube video to let everyone know they're special. From the video it sounds like you've only typed yourself from the 16personalities website and don't know anything about the cognitive functions or theory. Your research is entirely based on behaviour and therefore inaccurate and you are spreading misinformation (albeit unintentionally). I recommend looking into cognitive functions to learn more about your type. From this video I'm guessing you're a high Te (extroverted thinking) type meaning you value efficiency. If it's your dominant function then it could explain being highly efficient and a natural leader. I like this article here: www.careerplanner.com/8CognitiveFunctions/Extraverted-Thinking.cfm#:~:text=Dominant%20Extraverted%20Thinkers%20tend%20to,world%20to%20suit%20their%20needs.&text=They%20use%20their%20energy%20to%20make%20an%20impact%20in%20the%20real%20world. - intj female (as if that even matters)

Just to see what it's like to play against a female that cares so deeply about winning that they don't talk while playing against me because they are try harding so hard. Not to dis other female personalities but I've yet to play against a female that takes strategy somewhat seriously. But I imagine a INTJ like me could possibly be super fun to play against.

INTJ-A here. The best part of being an INTJ is the fact I could not possibly care if anyone likes me or not. The funny thing is, before I found out I was an INTJ, I tried like hell to be liked and fit in...and was miserable and now, knowing what I know about my personality type, not only am I more comfortable, but allowing me to be myself and not give a shit has led to people gravitating towards me. TL:DR - INTJ good.

this checking out who I am vibing with happened to me also when I started my exchange semester. I singled out the only male-INTJ and decided that he would be my friend. He sometimes remarks that he "still doesn't know why I wanted to be friends in the first place" and "what I want from him". Really, I couldn't give him an answer, because I just wanted it :D It became clear later, that he is also an INTJ and know seeing your video I know why I did what I did. Great to have an explanation! I am looking forward to August, where I start at a new work place and hopefully I can find someone to "vibe with" :D Additionally, what kept me from recognizing this INTJ status for a long time was that I am also German. The stereotypical german is no-nonsense (just shy of being rude), efficient and doesn't do small talk. So it was for a long time just kinda "yeah you are quite a proto-german". On the other hand, if you are an INTJ, you will probably like living in germany :D you should try it out.

I want to point out that it is really questionable to put down females for being generally more on the emotional side! It is only more difficult to work with women ((if they are generally seen more excelling at emotion related topics/situations)) if you are not that good in handling social situations which is more common among INTJs! Emotions are important. They play a big role in life. Relationships (to yourself, friends, family, others) really profit from the emotional development of INTJs. This is also from my personal experience as an INTJ. Having a rather analytical mind or intellegence doesn't excuse being not able to care at least on a minimum level about other peoples feelings. INTJs are hyped because our current society values rationality over emotionality. And it is probably arrogant to push a certain "type" higher in value than an other. Only because a large group of people does something, doesn't mean that the stuff they are doing is always right. Other topic: I wonder if being INTJ as a female is really that rare. Being told that a part of you is rare and you are "special" just pushes your self esteem but you are not doing anything for it. It can those who are not "that special type" feel even unworthy. It is also common among the life path numbers in the spiritual community. i wonder if there are people who read this..
@thelydshow4 жыл бұрын
Hey I did read this comment! So it's not that emotions are bad. I just find it unnecessary to include emotional side comments in professional situations just to get a point across. Again this is definitely not true to all women or to just women, but from my experience this is a common tendency. Could just be me though... INTJ females are quite quite rare according to meyers briggs. I don't consider myself highly because of a rare personality type. It doesn't really give you any leverage. It's more of an interesting observation as to why we behave so whack sometimes.

So much so that this one girl said "oh I'm hearing your voice for the first time" after a whole year in uni

INTJ woman especially suffer a lot more from society in comparison to INTJ men because the INTJ archetype is more "stereotypically" masculine. I wish that there was not a bias in concrete types (SJ types and SP types), as they are unfortunately estimated to make up 70% of the global population! For your information, I would advise you learn the functions of each type and the four sides to the mind which is part of Union Analytical Psychology as it is far more accurate than the MBTI letter dichotomy.😈

i tested as a INTJ, and Im in a weird limbo. i understand people and try to be helpful and I never go or say with what I like better, but i believe the reason why that is because I find being nice a strategy not a moral. Ive always been told being nice will get you further in the end, so I really did take it to heart, I try not to stand out from others and I always tell people what they want to hear while simultaneously wanting to really express myself its tough man, being a INTJ, I end up just feeling like a stranger to myself with my personality shifting ways.

I'm an INFP, but I believe that only in the sense that someone found a way to market and profit off old psychological studies much like they do with Eastern Philosophy in the West. My most passionate relationship / love was with someone similar to you. Loved hanging with the boys, hated hanging with women, rarely wore a skirt but would wear tall boots if she did, work was always a focus, yet so passionate and expressive, and we just had this energy between us where others noticed our attraction wherever we went. But she was also a pathological liar, that was her superpower when it came to her comings and goings specifically (always fun when that had to be confronted). And in all fairness to her, she did remark early on "Do you ever notice how we all wear masks?" I think her big attraction to me was my open and honest (and fun loving) nature. So what I came to realize is she just has some Lilith in her and I am a masochist at heart, and now I always check the canine teeth at a glance on people to see if they're still protruding to know just how much vampire is still in a person genetically, or if they carry crystals around, or like to pose by pools or mirrors, oft all three correlate. There's a little Introvert in all of us because people are dangerous and annoying and time away from even your closest friends is like the awareness scene in Home Alone for a few hours.
