I initially didn't plan to go because I was stupidly afraid of being disappointed after an incredible Quadrophenia concert in Montreal a few years before. But when I heard that the tour was maintained despite the passing of John, I said "Hats off, if this is not rock'n'roll attitude, then what is ? I owe them to go !", and I drove hundreds of kms. Anyway, I just wanted to say that being very close to the stage, through Pete's playing I witnessed all his anger and sadness and rage at loosing a dear friend. Sheer brilliance. It was for me as intense as seeing Hendrix on stage, to the point that I experienced a "musical orgasm". So thank you Pete, thank you The Who for all the good energy, my life wouldn't be exactly the same without you, please let me hug you with much much love.

7:30 - I don't know if there was an "Electric Factory" in Chicago, but there was in Philly! That's where I saw the Who for the first time! A little warehouse in downtown Philly. Small place with one entrance where the bands had to walk through the crowd to get to the stage. Great light show and coffins in the back that were angled so you could lie down and still see the show if you were too wrecked! Little benches where we all huddled together to see the show. The stage was only a couple of feet high, like the benches. They came through the crowd holding their instruments above their head and played "Tommy" from beginning to end! It was an AMAZING JOURNEY! Everyone was stoned on pot and acid! Whether they intended to be or not! The ceiling was only about 18 feet and painted black like the walls and day glow paint accented everything! Stobe lights made the whole thing surreal! The smoke got quite thick and the acid came out in your sweat, so there was no avoiding the BUZZ with people rubbing shoulders the whole night long!

I was at that Murray "The K" Spectacular in New York! I was 15 years old. It was both The Who's and Cream's first US gig. The Who played a whole set each show, but Cream only played three songs, one of which was "Anyone For Tennis." Each day, the headliner changed. The day I went, the headliners were The Rascals. The rest of the lineup included Wilson Pickett, Mitch Ryder and Phil Ochs. I don't remember the rest of the lineup. The Who and Mitch Ryder were incredibly exciting.

@Costa Zambaras look into it. he was a part of a group trying to uncover the fact that banks were aware of people using their credit cards to access child pornography and slid it under the rug. he was abused as a child and had also done work into stopping abuse at boys homes with the same group of people and unfortunately he was flagged during a shoddy operation by british intelligence that really didn't do a good job. his computers were searched and it was determined he hadn't accessed anything malicious, but his internet activity was suspect and thats why he was questioned by the authorities. he didn't contribute anything to child trafficking. i'm sure your parents are proud you're so misinformed about things.

@politicalpurveyor21475 жыл бұрын
@Costa Zambaras That's a bit harsh, mate! It's true Pete did use his credit card to enter a child porn site but he was researching the banks. Pete wanted to show how corrupt the banks were, so his first step was to go on-line and look at child porn.
