Hi Susi from Annie, lovely hearing these stories especially the one where by you at 14yr old had the love of that one true and only love that produced a child which you both sadly had to give up because of parents etc and you found your son years later ... It would have been nice if you had married that lovely lad, glad you found him to tell him about the son but its so sad he passed in his parents house and never married, he must have loved you truely.

I absolutely LOVE the hummingbird plate that has the earrings on it 🫶!! My Mama loved hummingbirds AND she also had a friend who was an artist (Lorena Padgett) and she taught my Mother how to do oil painting on china pieces. She also taught her how to use a kiln to fire her pieces in the stages from beginning to end! She painted many articles with flowers and hummingbirds on them. I have several different items that Mama painted but I have a special piece that she painted especially for me for a birthday gift ~~~A Victorian young lady doll! She also made the dress and petticoats and lace overlay on the dress. The dress is a royal purple silky material with poofy sleeves to the wrist with a delicate laced apron to cover the front of the skirt of her gown! It went well below the ankles and you can see the black lace-up boots that were painted and baked in the kiln just long enough to get the perfect finish to obtain a “leather boot” appearance. She has her own stand but as I was still a younger child when I received it as a gift…she ALWAYS got place in amongst the softest pillows on the bed after it was made every morning, and placed in a wooden cradle lined with a feather pillow for the night when I went to bed. I still have her yet to this day 💖💞💕and I can feel my Mama’s love radiate from her to this day. I will be 68 y/o in August and my Mama passed away in 2000, and I miss her ever so much but I have so many memories that are tucked away in my heart 💜! My Daddy also left an immense amount of loving memories in my heart too, but maybe I’ll share that another time. Thank you for taking the time to read this message to you!! I thoroughly enjoy your channel and I look forward to watching many more!!!

Oh what a story Susan and what an incredible life you’ve had so far. Heartbreaking and happy. How sad for Ronnie and Sean not to have met his dad. You could truly write a book. We go through life and wonder how on earth we survive. I married my first and only boyfriend. Like you I was 14 and he was 16. We didn’t get pregnant then, but went on to have our girl who sadly died age 29. We have been married 48 years I was 21 when we married. It’s been hard without her for us both, but we go back such a long way that we don’t know where one of us ends and the other begins. God bless you and darling Desi 🌸 loved all of the video.

@@joannewsome5202 Joan thanks for reaching out to me. Your story is so very touching and heartfelt and I am crying. Your daughter sounds wonderful. It’s so tragic when life takes our children as it’s not in the correct order and I truly wonder how we are supposed to cope with this profound loss. Eve was offered weight loss surgery on the N.H.S …I’m a u.k subscriber……and things went wrong after the operation…she suffered, mostly in hospital, for 6 months before passing away and as you know it’s the worst. I feel for you as you say you had lost your husband also. May god watch over you and bless you. 🌸

I laughed over the Jerry and the Pacemakers story and your poetic math teacher-you have such a way with story telling. 🙂 To think that you found your son, but sadly didn’t have the opportunity to reunite with your first love, his dad. Perhaps it just wasn’t meant to be. I married my first love at 15, he was 20 and we’ve been together for 54 years! It was the 60’s, our parents had to sign for us and no, I wasn’t pregnant🙂we share the same birthday, month and day-soul mates. Much love to you and Desi🥰

You had me in tears. I'm so happy you and your son found each other, but I'm so sorry for you and your son that Ron was not able to reunite with his son before he passed away. I can only imagine that Ron is looking down on the both of you with so much love & pride. Susan, I have a feeling Ron loved you until the day he passed away. Your story could be turned into a book & a movie. Just one thing I wish you would have told us is what was the reason you two broke up after 2 years. Sending you and your son my love. 💕

Oh Mary, thank you for your sweet sweet comments...they mean the world to me. Ron and I were so close...and he was an angel to me. He got up in his 11th-grade class and had ot read a short story out loud and it was about he and I getting married! I was sent to an UnWed Mothers' Home so Ron and I could not see each other for 5 months. When I got home he was there. We were closer than ever and bonded by our sadness. My Mom came home early one-day from work and Ron and I had fallen asleep and she hit the roof. She threatened his father..." if your son comes near my daughter again I will have him arrested"....so that was it. We could not see each other. It was a pain like no other.

Wow Susan you're such a great storyteller! I'll answer three: First car in 1974 was a 1960 English Morris Minor. I bought my car one day, got my driver's license the next day, practiced shifting gears and then said to myself: I'm ready for the city! First concert: Janis Joplin with big brother and the holding company in San Francisco. First time I was really proud of myself was bellydancing professionally in San Francisco in 1995 at age 40. It felt like the culmination of a lifetime of dance classes all came together. I didn't start belly dancing until I was 35. It was fabulous. I don't know what anyone else thought but I felt like a goddess.

Hi Susan. What a beautiful walk down memory lane! I have a few of my own. I grew up in a suburb of the Motor City. I remember Motown music very well. My dad worked for Ford Motor Company. My dad and other family's were sent to Belfast, Ireland to start a Ford Motor Company plant over there. The year was 1964. Best time of my childhood. My first kiss happened in Ireland. His name was Daniel Weir. Another American family sent to start FMC. Anyway, there was a concert one night, my Mom told my brothers they had to take me and I remember it so vividly. My eldest brother hiked me on his shoulders so I could see better, as he stood on the chair. (I think that is why I am afraid of heights these days😂😂) The band playing was none other than...THE BEATLES!!! Yes, I remember a lot about that night. The suits they wore, their skinny ties. The year was 1964 or 1965. We moved back to the States in 1966. Thanks so much for bringing back those happy memories!

Boy, did this video take me back. Yes, brought a tear or two when I thought back. I still hold a place in my heart for my first love. When I think of his name that feeling still comes back. I have not loved like that ever since. He is on my friends list though he's seldom online. He's happily married and living in my home state of CA. We're in our 70's now. Amazing how those feelings still feel like yesterday.

We still are very close- 51 years together- I don’t know what to call the relationship. It’s more then friendship. He is my best friend, yes but more. I’m married, 29 years. Happily. I almost think Randy is my Twin Flame. Soooo many life lessons together. He & my husband are close friends. I feel very blessed. He is just very special to me. My first kiss. My first steady, etc. then life happens but we managed to save our feelings for each other through it all. I loved this video. As I’ve said before, I love your music! Great Topic, and thanks for keeping it light. This week has been tough on several levels! First I just have to say something...I say this alot. "OUR generation had the Best music!!"🎸🎶👍That music got me through sooooo much. FIRSTS...CAR= Blue Plymouth Valient First feeling of pride as a child= In Ballet school, always knowing and demonstrating the techniques we did in review. I think I was 7. It was a new school, The Drexel Hill Conservatory of Music. I spent all of 1st grade 40 + weeks reading the library book " Fun with Ballet". At 12 I taught the Beginners class and at 16 I was given an award for " Most Invaluable". I was a really good choreographer, an average dancer, and did not have the body to be a ballerina. That was my 1st teaching job. My last was working at a college teaching Research Methods & PR & Business Plan Development and CommunicationTheory. My 1st job was better! Wrapping up the Firsts: I flew to Italy on my first plane trip, M6 first Love was a Boy named Paul in 9th grade. He was a Senior and I got to go to the Senior Prom! My first time was with my soon to be 1st husband, who I dont speak to, nor do I speak to my 1st Best friend. C'est la vie!. 💗

Thanks for sharing some of the most important times in your life. It brought back so many good memories to me of my life. My favorite memory of a music event was Woodstock 1969 of course. It was like all the pictures you have seen and more. It was a memorable and crazy time for sure. The memory I have of that time was I went to the event in a skirt and tank top and came home wearing mens jeans and a t-shirt. It set off years of wondering if I had his pants and shirt was he wearing my skirt and tank top? Oh well, it remains an unsolved mystery in my life, one of many. Take care and stay safe.

Your first boyfriend reminds me of Eddie Redmayne in the second photo. Good looking fella! Loved listening to your memories, especially the ones about your kindergarten teacher and your Arlo Guthrie sketch. What an amazing life you've had, Susan. What you shared about your first time with your boyfriend Ronnie and your son Shaun was beautiful.

That was such a beautiful story about Ron and your son. My first car was a Toyota. My first concert was Hall and Oats. My first movie I ever saw in a theater was Fantasia. My dad took me and my best friend Lisa. I love your sunglasses that you are wearing in your opening sequence when you are wearing a trench coat. Where did you get them? This was truly a lovely video.

Susan, I admire you. You are a very strong woman. You know my first trip in a plane was when I was 22. I traveled from Puerti Rico to Europe, I was so scared. We left at mudnight, it was a 12 hours flight. Everubody was sleeping except me. I asked myself what I was doing there. But I had a wonderful time, I stayed a month in Europe, it was a dream comes true. Blessings, say hi to Desi.

Hi. I am going to answer en spanish.

Oh my, what a beautiful video! Like many others I was answering the same questions right along with you and remembering things I haven't thought about in years! The one thing that brought me to tears was the troubling question "When did you first feel proud of yourself?" Why do we have such a hard time feeling satisfied or giving ourselves credit for our positives?

You know Kathy....I feel just like you...I was stumped! I could remember feeling every emotion except " pride". That got lost in who I was as a young girl. I love this video Susan:)! So heartwarming and joyful :).♥️ I had a car just like yours when I was 18:)! Oh my gosh:)! Thanks so much for sharing your stories with us in such a fun and engaging way:)😊 West Side Story, Gone With the Wind, Fiddler on the Roof, Mary Poppins, and Sound of Music were my first set of movies that I ever saw and I love those movies to this day:)! My oldest sister would take me to see movies, plays, and concerts when I was a kid:). I love, theater, poetry, art, decorating, and music to this day because of my sister:). My best friend, Linda, is still my very best friend. I even told her about your youtube channel, and she enjoys watching your channel too:)!She and I are both 54 and have been best friends for 50 years:)! We live in different states now, with different lives, but no matter the passage of time, we pick up conversations like no time has passed by:). She is a wonderful friend:). First thing I did and do daily is ready my prayer app. Starts my day in a kind way. First young man I had a serious crush on was named Kevin. We knew each other since we were kids, and during my last year of high school, he literally was one of my dearest friends. I caught up with him per online chat a few years ago. He still was just as kind as he had been when we were teenagers:). I think the time I have been proudest is literally now. I've had many a peak and valley in my lifetime, and just to have survived those valleys and still be positive and kind is overall what gives me joy to this day:). Again, loved this video:)! Hope you and Desi enjoy a great weekend and Blessed upcoming week:)🙏😊🤗🎀🎀🎀

That is a fantastic concert story. To be ten years old at such an experience. So very cool!!! When I was ten I got to visit a friend who was a student at Kent State, Ohio. It was a year after the riot. I didn't understand what was really going on, but it impacted me. Your tell your stories so well. And I guess it spills over into your writing and songs and photography. Susan, I don't remember if I commented the first time or not. But, I sure do enjoy your life stories and the honesty. I'm not as brave but If I was I would list a whole bunch of " firsts",,!!! I once read that as we get older and looking back over our lives that it's the things we didn't do that we regret the most! I'm finding out that is so true. Wish I'd done more and thought less😂🤣😂!! I have a couple of things I regret that I did but find mostly that old saying is true! I'm not through yet, though! I'm a Christian but not a dead one yet! I'm going to have some good, clean , fun because of you Miss Susan!! Whoopee!

There were no family rooms at the time so my parents would sit at the kitchen table in the other room so we could dance all over the living room 🤪 I don't have alot of memories of my parents on a day-to-day basis, but I have wonderful memories of my sister.

What a beautiful story Susan, my best friend at primary school (we were 4 nearly 5) is my sister in law now and we have known each other for 70 years, although we didn’t see each other from 10 when we changed schools until I was 18 she had married at 16 and had two little ones already I was on my way to work in Spain for 6 months when I met her again. I am still in touch with my first loves sister. My first film I saw was Bambi and when I was 11 my aunt took me to see the Magnificent 7 and then afternoon tea in a posh restaurant in London. I was 13 in 1963 when I saw the Beatles for the first at our local theatre in London and I ended up seeing them a total of 6 times, we didn’t even know their names the first time, but had their names in the programme we paid for. Ahh what memories ……………. There is loads more but ………
