Hey gotta tell you. Thought this looked great too. Got out the store bought cod, the taters, the carrots. Boiled the heck out of them at the 10 minute intervals in the salted water. Melted the butter, the whole shabang. Result? Meh, tasted like boiled food. Last time we try the great Wisconsin Fish Boil!

do you know when to throw in corn or crab if I wanted to? do you ever use crab boil or other spices? Great vids, Larry

Can't go wrong with Cajun seasoning, or other seasonings. Sure it's not "classic" but eh. I like it.

That sounds like you're after a cajun seafood boil, the video covers a Wisconsin fish boil originally done by Scandinavian immigrants in the late 1800s

BEER-N-BBQ by Larry how many time fisf take?
@Gdwmartin7 жыл бұрын
Here in NL we would do this with salt cod or what the Europeans and foodies call Bacalhau. It would be soaked overnight before cooking. Then again Newfoundlanders like their food fairly salty compared to most others

In 1497 Giovanni Caboto aka John Cabot showed up here and the the Brits founded an entire enterprise on Cod, salted cod. It was supposed to be enough cod to last until the end of time. Those cod stocks did last 500 years before collapsing so i guess that was pretty good.

Why does no one use seasoning!?
@BEERNBBQBYLARRY5 ай бұрын
@@jordanrios886 Traditional Midwestern Swedish-American fish boils only use salt (and butter). If using good fish, it doesn’t need anything else.

I thought the same thing until I tried it once. Seafood seasoning?! Do you put that on all seafood? You probably add steak sauce to steak too, eh? Drown your food in ketchup too I assume.
@rocko112camaro5 жыл бұрын
Doesn't look very tasty. Your seasoning is only salt. 2lb of salt
