The Fishing Was on FIRE While Everywhere Was FLOODING! Storm Babet

This session I fished during some of the worst flooding in the UK! The target - pike. In these conditions the fishing can be great. Overcast all day, cool rain and colouring up waters mean the fish want to feed all day. When the conditions are like this fishing BIG baits can get you some BIG fish and that was the aim for this canal session.

Sitting here by the fire with my feet up watching you out there in the driving rain gives me a rather warm and very contented feeling. After a few minutes of watching I must admit that I did think about getting the rods out myself and heading off into the elements in search of that double figure pike. Then my wife poured me another scotch, put another log on the fire and the thoughts just sort of evaporated. So you may well understand that I will continue to rely on you mate to keep my interest on a high during this lousy spell of weather. I really do look forward to your next upload. Fishing has been a total washout for me this season. Here in my part of the North West Midlands my 2 local rivers are both well over their banks and the fields are flooded like those in this video. It's been like that since the first heavy rains earlier in the summer, and the water just doesn't seem to be draining away like it should. Just when the fields by the rivers start to dry out along comes another big storm andf the rivers burst their banks again.

Hi GF, in my younger days as a 14 yr old with my pike licence in the Netherlands ( The Hague) caught some fabulous pikes in small out of the way water. Now, in Australia the Murray cods are just as ferocious feeders. Cannot understand how British carp hunters do not come to try to catch our feral carp measuring 60/70 cm . Point to consider.....our weather is perfect for fishing the year round, but bring your sun tan lotion and 12 lb lines if you are game. Love your vids, mate!

I only fish rivers for perch and pike around where I live as the lakes don’t want lure anglers on them ! So for here weeks now I havnt been as the rivers are running like canyon rivers still and I don’t know about what most off the fisherman are thinking but there doesn’t seem to be an end to it ,🤷 good upload by the way fella yet again 👍

It’s just a small canal in the north nothing special mate. Smaller shallow venues are much easier to fish imo as it’s a lot easier to find the fish. I’ve fished this canal loads and it’s great fun just tiny. Unfortunately a lot of venues are hard as fuck in the uk, I’ve fished for miles and miles of canal that people say is ’good’ and had 2 jacks. Lure fished my whole life, it’s just rough here

Great video, some great fish coming out. That storm really made fishing rivers impossible. Still getting some pretty heavy rain my way. I had to abandon a session whilst I was fishing it and had to get on the canals after. There's definitely some decent fish coming about at the moment. Good turbulence in the water with big paddle tails is exactly what I'm doing at the moment on the coloured water I've got access to, hoping for some of those bream munchers.
