It’s a very lovely hotel but very poor service. Slow. Disorganised. More like 4star for that reason. Not sure if it changed over time but as someone who’s stayed at many 5star hotels around the world this was the worst one I’ve stayed at. The town is beautiful but the hotel staff are badly managed and very slow service.

@@rugdesigner6941 Wow, thank you for sharing. I’ve experienced good service at the hotel restaurant Ro Marley’s. The food was great, service was courteous and fast. I also stayed at this hotel last December. The front desk staff were nice and courteous also. The one thing I would warn people against is accepting their time share presentation in return for a facial, etc. That 150 USD facial is Not free if you don’t buy. Also, they will take So much of your time. It ended up spoiling what was supposed to be a relaxing mini-vacation with my son. I was looking forward to staying there after having been at the restaurant 2x and seeing the beautiful grounds of the hotel. I do agree that it’s not 5-star level service though and even less so with the sneaky time-share presentation they spring on unsuspecting guests 🥲 Thanks again for sharing about your experience.

No one who is a resident of Puerto Morelos wants this disaster here. It was built illegally, didn't follow building guidelines. Built on corruption. Anyone who cares about the environment in Puerto would avoid this overpriced tourist trap.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It does seem there's something fishy going on at the municipal level in Puerto Morelos as I see they keep allowing 8-10 story buildings to be built ocean-front, something that doesn't seem to fit the small-town vibe of PM.

The saxophone is freaking horrible. It sounds like porno music. Thinking of finding another place to stay if I’m going to have to listen to that all day. I want to feel like I’m in Mexico not staying next to some tacky who knows where porn shoot.

😅 Aw, I wouldn't worry about that. The sax player was only there for the wedding party, which happened to be going on that day. The rest of the time, the downstairs bar plays relaxed reggae and beach vibes.
