In the second game red was definitely looking for opportunistic kills. You managed to beat him to the punch and salvage your own game after blue bullied you out of Europe for no good reason. Excellent game. Thanks for sharing it.

Two tiger cats. How great is that? And with the same coloring shade as my former tiger cat. What's greatest about cats, IMO, is how unique their personalities often are, vs. 4 or 5 pretty standard "dog" personalities for something like 80% of dogs, in my experience.

I've always loved fixed, and definitely have noticed improvement since I started watching. My counter attacks are SO much stronger now that I don't invest every single troop I have into guarding borders. P.S. - those cat slaps make my day 😅🤣🤣

😻😻😻 Yeah man. It's an entirely different way to guard. And when you finally get broken you only lose future generation. Not troops on the board.

Or even the need to hold a continent at all. The other day I simply abandoned Europe after having it broken and floated a single stack around Asia for a while while the other players sniped at each other, and was eventually able to make a comeback and win the game.

I'm new to the game, I started because of you. I haven't got an online win yet, but I'm having a lot of fun. Progressive tends to have more experienced players I think, and they have senses of humour. But in fixed people are a little more volatile. Virtually every other game you get someone who just stack-wipes you for no good reason, or they start a war with you needlessly, leaving others to build themselves up and take you both out. It's much more fun when people know what they're doing and when weaker players work together to balance the board. One thing that stands out is that people don't know how to call a cease-fire in a war, they just keep hitting each other until someone else swoops in and kills them both. It's really baffling why people make game-ruining moves at a point where they can't finish the kill, or even if they get the kill they can't recover with a set. Pyrrhic victories in a lot of games, haha. Not as much fun. In my favourite game so far, pink had been weakened and I had a line so I swept in, but I missed their last territory in Japan that I hadn't seen. Everyone was emoting with laughs and "oooops!" hahaha.

That second game highlights the importance of being able to clear territories quickly. Magenta failing to take out White and feed you the kill changed to entire balance of the game. If he clears White, gets a good turn in and breaks NA he's got like a 20ish army in Central America, 25 territories and two continents. Your 11 is trapped. Blues 11 is trapped. With good turn in you'll have 30 troops in Khamchatka on your turn but if I fortify the 28 into Mongolia you're either going to have to punch that or punch through Blues three and my ten in hopes of breaking Australia. Either way you're probably dead next turn, especially if I have another turn in and Blue doesn't have enough sense to break SA with the 9 and not just retake Europe. The moment he hit East Africa I knew he was too slow and you were going to win the game because of your superior speed. The best advice I've ever gotten was turning off the effin camera animation. I'm still not anywhere near as fast as you, but it did speed me up considerably.
@TheKillPeteStrategy2 жыл бұрын
You'll get there with practice.
@iconwolf90442 жыл бұрын
I need to spend more time practicing with the enter key. I'm so used to double clicking the mouse, but when you're playing single player speed isn't an issue. You know, having the option to play single player with a timer might be a useful improvement.

@TheKillPeteStrategy2 жыл бұрын
Risk is not a dead game, but it is massively underfunded. SMG told us that there were 12 people working on Risk full time in their last Q and A. For a game that has every potential to be bigger than Chess with a vibrant competitive scene I would hope that Hasbro sees the wisdom in investing in their digital platform. Either with SMG or with a larger studio that could service the demand.
