Use normal 3 point safety belt clips at the ends of the harness. Quick and safe. They were made for safety belts. Mount the female part to the floor and the male part to the harness end. Quick and safe.

Austin, I think you have done everything a person could do to trick out an fj-40! I want to see what you do for wheel well splash control into the engine compartment. Some versions of pickup have a stiff fabric wheel wheel liner for sound deadening in the rear wheel well housing. Like you my front wheel allows wheel water pickup to soak the unprotected firewall area and wiring as well as into the engine compartment. My intent is to make a shaped mold then lay some fabric like sheet felt over the mold and soak with epoxy resin for the flexible liner. If is gets hit by the tires it would not cut the tires like a sheet metal wheel well liner would. Thanks for reviewing the comments and making your special custom parts available. Number one site to find out what you are doing. Well done!

Installing the interior really speaks to all the hard work you’ve put in custom building all the interior panels. Seriously great work. Ignore the haters, everyone has a different style, I’m sure if we looked at their vehicles there’d be stuff we didn’t like. If I were to chime in my 2¢ on aesthetics I’d say it’d be nice to add a bit of color in tastefully. Looks good blacked out, but some OG Toyota stripes or something might kick it off a bit. I’d also maybe paint the interior hardware heads to tone down the chrome. But again, that’s my aesthetic not yours. Keep it up dude!

Yep get a standard seat belt buckle on the end of your harness strap and clip that into a buckle secured to your crossbar. you could even tie the two straps together coming off the seat so its one buckle onto the crossbar

You should see if they make a retracting thing like the 3 point system that you can attach to the roll bar for the tops. That way you can pull them out and then they'd lock like a normal seatbelt 🤷♂️
@marceldekker43862 ай бұрын
Yes, I had a car with 4 point belts and it had a similar retracting thing on the rollbar.
@jamesolivier31922 ай бұрын
3pt retractable harnesses are my suggestion. They are awesome for wheeling and street driving as you can still lean forward to see things. People generally only use the lap portion of standard harnesses while wheeling, because you just cant move around enough to see, nor change the radio station and what not.
@ronthompson23662 ай бұрын
Really looks great 👍... it's the little attention to detail items now. Which is cool, because it sets it apart from the crowd. I think you could get away with a nice set of retractable lap / shoulder belts for normal everyday use. Then if you are going to do something outside of that. Install the harnesses that can be stowed in a bag /cargo net behind the seats. I don't know if a quick connect buckle would be strong enough. Or pass any kind of inspection if you are in some form of competition. However, for everyday use and wheeling. The standard lap and shoulder belt is plenty and more comfortable for traveling.

Man, I love watching your craftsmanship on this build, Brother! Could you tie a bar across the seat base or pedestal for the seat belt? If the seat belt straps reach, that is. Awesome build! Getting there quickly!

Is there a way you can put some seat belt retractable ratchets like the kind on regular seat belts that stop you during the car accident that would probably let you move the seatbelt slowly when moving it forward

Don't run the belt through the seat. Just run them around the head and shoulder rest. I have always done that on my sxs because I wanted to be able to remove the seats easily to wash. It's also a lot more comfortable because the belts don't rub on your neck so bad
