Brodie Tanzer No he is not, the things Flash changes don't affect several characters who are above Universes. Barry only affected 1 universe with Flashpoint, after Flashpoint when Barry was changing everything back Pandora re-wrote the reality to create New 52. That also didn't affect several characters. Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel, The Presence, The Spectre, Pandora, Trigon, Phantom Stranger etc.. are all unaffected by New 52.

A little correction. Jay Garrick got his powers from Mercury. Not the exact same thing as Hermes; I mean in practice the same thing but not in theory. Since, while Earth 1 deals with Greek Mythology, Earth 2 does so with Roman Mythology.

Barry Allen is the best Flash hands down. I think he is the fastest Flash regardless what other people think. If he can generated speed force, his speed is unlimited. The problem is...i think he is like Superman, he tends to holds back a lot. Superman can be as strong as he wants to be. Barry can be as fast as he wants to be. Yes Wally is fast but I think he comes in second to Barry. Then again, I'm old school and I grew up watching Barry while the new school see Wally the better Flash. I guess it all depends who's writing the story. Regardless, Barry is my favorite. Besides his title says it all.

To me Barry Allen is always The Flash. I stopped reading comics in the 90's, not too long after Barry Allen's death, and started reading again with the New 52 after Barry Allen returned as the Flash. So, I never read the comics while Wally West was the Flash, although I was a fan of the Justice League cartoons and had no problem with Wally West being the Flash then. DC doesn't seem like they know what to do with Wally West currently. He appeared in the New 52 as a bi-racial kid, but he wasn't The Flash, and they can't exactly call him The Flash while Barry Allen is the Flash. Now with Convergence, the white Wally West is back as The Flash in the Pre-Flashpoint Gotham City. I think they will likely kill this version of Wally off and remove him from the canon, and keep the bi-racial Wally as a new speedster in his silver costume. They certainly have to keep Barry as The Flash, now that he is The Flash in the TV show.

Barry Allen will always be the definitive Flash for me, Wally West is the only other character I ever considered a real Flash (in the silver age) and I'm not the biggest Wally West fan. That being said I still think The Flash is my favourite hero in the DCU, regardless of which iteration it is.

Wally is the best, most powerful, most skilled, and most interesting Flash until they ruined him by giving him kids. It has been stated that Wally has all the skills of the other flashes and then some, like stealing kinetic energy from moving objects which Barry never learned to do. Also if you include his time as Kid Flash he was a Flash longer than Barry. Its a shame that we will never see him again. And by the way the new 52 version of Bart is not related to Barry in any way.

I haven't read a lot, well any really, Flash, but my personal favorite is Flash beyond. She hears and sees all the previous Flashes, who are either trapped in the Speed Force or that is where the soul of a Flash goes when they die, justivce league beoynd wasn't clear in that regard. It was hinted at that the other Flashes are just in her mind and that shes losing it, but alas justice league beyond 2.0 went on hiatus before that got straightened out.

Redheaded Wally West is not just my favorite Flash but also my all time favorite character in all of comics! The reason being that he introduced me to comics with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited and I always think of him as the true embodiment of the Flash identity being hopeful and all that. I was really sad and kind of bitter when they got rid of him in the New 52 but was estatic when DC Rebirth #1 brought him back in fact the main reason I'm trying to get all the Titans Rebirth books is because Wally's in them and I need to reconnect with my redhead Wally!

Wally New 52 origins was wrong here, the one you mentioned is from New 52 Flash Future's End which is a non-canon "what if" story. The only canon version of Wally West Flash is when he cam back from the future to battle with Future Flash, he never stated how he got his powers though.

I don't really like that they bought Barry Allen back. Say what you will about "who was the better Flash", but Barry's death in Crisis had meaning. It was a sacrifice to save everyone, and they kept him dead for a good 20 years, long enough so that most people reading comic books would have grown up with Wally West instead. Reviving him sort of downplays the whole sacrifice thing, and it makes Wally taking up the mantle as Flash less special. Instead of being a continuation of his legacy, he was a temporary replacement. There's nothing noteworthy about it now.

That's not how new 52 wally got his powers, he was struck by speed force energy when professor zoom and his team were fighting the flash, and he is only now starting to show signs of superspeed

I always liked Wally West best as Flash. Not that I don't like Barry, I just felt it cheapened his death when they brought him back.

I grew up with the Justice League cartoon so I've always been a fan of Wally West.
