I was glad to see him. But as The Flash said, his Batman was their leader and strategist; while Keaton's Batman wasn't used to working with others and communicating strategy and tactics. Clooney's Batman dealt with Robin and Batgirl, so makes sense he seemed more personable than Affleck's, such that it looked like he showed up to give a party for Barry and his father and was going to hang out. Too bad they couldn't find a way to save this world from Zod. That was the problem with the movie, once they said these other worlds were real and not just a creation of Barry's time-traveling meddling.

Give him at least one more solo film that shows what his Batman was up to before The Flash. It's funny how the director talks of the importance of the backstory for Bat Keaton, why he retired and all, but still, that crucial infomation is NEVER mentioned on the movie itself, it's never explained or hinted at what happened to this Batman, how Alfred died, how is his Gotham nowadays. We just know he retired, for some reason, and Alfred died somehow, from old age or whatever, and Gotham is safe, That's it, the movie never gives a true context for where exactly in his life we find this Bruce Wayne in the movie.

It's my understanding that, in Bruce's words, he had successfully gotten rid of all crime in Gotham City and that meant Batman wasn't needed anymore. I don't know if the people behind the film were trying to avoid a TLJ scenario by not getting into specifics, but it did at least clue us in to some degree. And I would say his Alfred doesn't need some big death reveal, sometimes people get old and pass away.

I loved Gotham in this film and the fact they shot in Glasgow a gothic city. Just looked like Gotham City so that along with the production design was peak Batman and DC. That's my personal favourite aspects of this film along with the music as well. Edit: Also I'm pretty sure there was a blimp in the background of the bridge scene when Flash arrived after Wonder Woman showed up. Could've been imagining it but if it's actually in the film then this would make The Flash the first DC film to feature live action blimps in Gotham.

It's obvious the comments Andy made about what happened to Keatons Batman between Returns and The Flash were made before all the changes to the way the movie ended up in its final version. I wonder what Michael's thoughts on bringing him back are, considering he's now been removed from Aquaman 2, Batgirl has been canned and he's basically been killed off. An absolute travesty after all that time of him being away, they messed up his return so badly. He was absolutely the best part of The Flash and I'm so grateful I got to see him as Batman one more time. It just should have been so much more than just this.

Warner bros, if you do read these, just know, every single scene with Michael Keaton made this movie enjoyable. And it's not a bad movie, but unfortunately The Flash couldn't beat the negative buzz that surrounded it due to its star. Oh and the baby scene was ridiculous. With that said, Keaton back as Batman meant everything to so many people, and he knocked it out of the park. Seeing his character back after all of these years was incredible. And the film had heart, that line toward the end.. "you did bring me back" 😢. Oh and the batwing rotates around the cockpit!? Not only cool but with the kryptonian waiting to strike...genuine suspense in a super hero film.

I like how the movie itself borrows two things from the Burton-verse that really do work: the unforgettable motif of Danny Elfman’s score, and the classic Batsuit designed by Bob Ringwood. The key to Keaton’s success is that he’s not really playing the Batman that Burton gave us back then in 1989. Yeah, he’s got the gear, and he dutifully grunts the line: “I’m Batman.” But Keaton, acknowledging that he was now in a very different kind of movie, adapts his performance to the suit. This could be seen by his practical fight sequences, whether played by Keaton or a stunt stand-in, this Batman had a wonderfully plausible physicality. He’s tough, visibly aging, smartly defensive, not excessively violent. Making the difference that he wasn’t vengeance; he was just an old man in a hurry.
