I remember hearing that the reason why there are so many "Florida Man" stories from Florida is because the state has really good disclosure laws that allow info about wild events to both be put into public record quickly and easy to look up and access. In truth plenty of states have people doing "florida man" tier escapades but for some reason in particular it's harder for people out of state to find out about those than those of the true "florida men."

I witnessed a woman on a motor scooter throw a live python at a police officer while visiting Dade County. Couldn't find the exact article but found "Florida Man dances on police car to save the children from Vampires" & that's been my favorite headline ever since (there's even video of it all).

Florida man here,born and raised. Been out west for awhile but it never really leaves ya. Was back in 2019,watched a Cracker Christmas parade with a kkk float,hung out with drunk relatives and was out in the swamp playin with alligators cuz thier cute lil swamp puppies. Just my upbringing could be a fucked up Netflix series to rival even the tiger king,but pretty much anyone spends enough time there will end up that way with those kinda stories. It definitely does make ya crazy being there. For the real reasons why you'd prolly have to ask a Seminole elder. If they'll tell ya. Visit if ya like. But don't ever stay unless ya wanna end up that way :3

There's supposed to be a real case of a little girl on her pony, riding in a tornado and being gently put down on a grassy hill... And the Pony was fine, too. The story is set in the 1950s, IIRC. ... No idea how real it is, though.
