At the end of my Twitch stream on Mar. 11, 2021, I fielded some opening requests from chat. The Englund Gambit (1.d4 e5) was a top suggestion, so I decided to give it a whirl. Little did I know I'd be making 10 consecutive pawn moves to start the game! 😁

After 30. Qe1 Rxe1+ 31. Kd2 Rd1+ 32. Kc3 Kxf6, white is almost stalemated. His only legal move is to move the bishop back and forth between a2 and b1. The worst possible bishop--not only does it do nothing, it manages to prevent a stalemate swindle.

Gives a whole new meaning to “forced repetition” lol, you could just painfully push your pawns down the board while forcing him to move back and forth

In actual fact you can play Re2+ and Rxc2+ doing a desperado sac of the rook even if the B is not on the board. (Snatching the pawn on e3 with check is better but superfluous to the idea)
