I don't care if it was overpriced, I don't care about the warranty. I just like the dang thing and me personally, I am just tired of the common cookie cutter look of the AR-10 and AR-15 pattern. My SCAR 20 was worth the 4300 I paid.

SCAR20 has both reliability and accuracy, that's already a top-tier 308 gasser. I'm also glad FN fixed the RCH, not over-gassing it, and give us a good suppressor setting. And it doesn't hurt to be cool and sexy as hell. Not sure why you said it is 'not super tight MOA grouping' since it can hold 0.25-1MOA groups depending on the specific match-grade ammo.

Picked up a SCAR 20S in 6.5 Creedmoor. Had a major issue with being over gassed. Suppressed (sig and silencerco), even with the stock gas regulator in "suppresed" setting, it bucked hard. I had to work hard to get the 1/2 inch groups. Added an aftermarket gas regulator, and pow, soft recoil and easy all holes touching @100m. Plan on an after market gas regulator.

I have a 16, 17 and 20 in 308. I love the 20. With m80 ball it’s a 1-2 minute gun all day but with 175gr black hills mine shoots .8 minute groups no problem and .5 if I do my part and I’m not a great shooter by any means. I also run a Leupold MK 6, Tremor in a Spuhr. I run a silencer co can on it with a scarburator gas system. I love this gun but there is no way in hell it’s worth $4k for one primary reason… FN won’t warranty the rifle if you suppress it. I’d have gotten something else if I’d know that when I purchased it.

I was probably the last hold out at my gun club to still shoot 308. Everybody shoots 6 and 6.5 now. I have bolt guns and AR10 rifles that are in 308 and are absolute tack drivers. But once wind and distance come into play the fat piggy 308 just gets pushed around a lot more than the Creedmoor in the wind. Makes distance shots much easier. 178gr hornady superformance in 308 matches the drop balistics of 6.5 rounds...but with any wind, the 6.5 is an easier shot. Unless you want play on hard mode, get the 6.5.

@jhalscott2 жыл бұрын
@@herfmonny the FNAR could have been a serious gun, but FN didn't put real development into it. Mine had the canted top rail that plagued the majority of them released. They didn't have parts for two years so I just machined and hand fit it myself. It's also stupid to need a tool kit to take down and clean a gun. Too many small parts too. Modern guns should have a threaded barrel. Needing tools to adjust comb height and length of pull is terrible. It was unceremoniously eliminated from the lineup for all these reasons.

@JohnZ5562 жыл бұрын
You can't even get a DD5 at 2k! 2.2-2.6k is more like DD5 price range. Galil ACE is not as well built and usually pretty over-gassed with no gas adjustment at all. Unless you KNS it, then it is still difficult to adjust especially if you are running QD can. You are NOT supposed to disassemble it often as it will damage your accuracy. They are pretty heavy and the new versions are even heavier. That being said, I really enjoy the 13" 7.62*39 version with OSS can. I see Galil ACE as a good option for modern milled 'AK' and that's pretty much it.

@@thetest8777 That's generally true for almost all IWI rifles. They are fantastic and reliable fighting tools.
