We've been to Phuket in the past, but we enjoyed Chiangmai just as much, even more. This particular video was a labor of love. We finally understood why some people adopt children from other countries.

Did you go with a tour company to the village? I'll be visiting Chiang Mai in April and hope to get to the village.

No, we hired a private driver (Mr. Tee) for three days. It was only about $85 a day. We told him where we wanted to go, what we wanted to do, and he suggested an itinerary, which we adjusted, and finally reached our actual itinerary. The embroidery is alright, but I got nothing good to say about the disfigured necks. I notice that none of them have a bare neck, as if it now needs support from the rings or has to concealed under soft collar.

That is just the way they protect themselves from tiger attacks. It's a cultural thing.
