It's amazing to think Celts and Italics aren't just culturally and genetically related, but also linguistically, to the point many modern linguists like to put them into a same language branch, the "Italo-Celtic languages". The Romans and the Gaulish were actually cousins, despite killing each other lol

the mitanni always remind me of the trial version of Age of Empires, in which you play as the Hittites and your enemies are the Mitanni. Thanks to that game and a few books within my reach I developed a keen interest in ancient civilizations from like the first grade in school! Somewhere in the world, at some time in history, there was a city that had a period of unprecedented peace, prosperity and fruitfulness. Their citizens lived fulfilling lives of work, family, ceremonies and social life. This period lasted over a lifetime and there were people that lived an entire life where violence was rare. There was no existential threat. Everyone felt safe. They loved their merciful and generous king. They had immense pride in their culture and people. They lived an entire life of happiness and celebration. In modern western society this unbroken lifelong period has never existed. There has always been some sort of pressure on its citizens. Whether it be foreign in nature or domestic. There are people who can insulate themselves, but as for societal wide, I don't believe there has been a period such as this, but somewhere, at some point in history, it would have been reality. These periods of time would be perfect tourist destinations if time travel into the past is ever invented.
