It’s a great little camera, having decent manual controls makes it handy. Do you know how to get the live view on the Coolpix A, to display your actual current exposure? The image on my LCD doesn’t reflect the actual exposure until I half-press the shutter button. It makes setting the exposure a lot more ponderous than i’d like.

Now that i'm looking at the settings you might be right. I couldn't find any setting to display the current exposure. This hasn't been a huge issue for me but there definitely should be a feature like that

I don't think anyone has forgotten them. They are just insane prices on ebay. Mine was unfortunately stolen

That's unfortunate. What did you think of the camera?

My grandpa left this camera behind and I wanted to try and get into photography. Are view finders important? Would I be able to attach one to the top of the camera? Thank you

Yes you can use an optical viewfinder. There is a DF-CP1 viewfinder made for this model but other hotshoe mounted 28mm viewfinders will work too

It depends on what you want to shoot, from low angles like water poodle reflection you can use a view finder, and in a point and shoot like that I personally don't see a real need, I had a canon G12, but never used the view finder since it was a optical VF and only helped to see what is in my frame, so to me a VF in a point n shoot is ok, but not a game change or deal break, in a mirror less or dslr it's, but with one of these you can set the settings and do a preview on the screen way faster for street photography

This would be a cheaper alternative for the ricoh GR series if only it is available here in my country. It's not a popular camera when launched i guess.

With an MSRP of 1100 USD i can understand why it didn't sell so well back then

No flip screen byeeee

It all ends for me when there’s no viewfinder! 👎

It is a bit of a shame. A pop up viewfinder like on the RX100 cameras replacing the built in flash would have been nice

Sadly you can't shoot with the back display turned off. That would have been a nice feature if you were to use a hotshoe viewfinder
@unbroken1010Ай бұрын
@@too_many_cameras the battery last a long time. Don't matter if it's in, you can shoot from the hip and just ignore it
