All in all, a nice awl, with the line accent, the knife would be a good restore project, thanks for the video, George.

very nice renovation...a great way to make a one of a kind set of tools. the quality of workmanship is certainly worthy of display. Merry know a great chair when she sees it. I always shop the smalls in the garage at estate sales. I've picked a few bargains as well. I really like giving tools and knives a second chance at life.

👍 Excellent looking awl (after your work), I’ll take 2. I look forward to seeing your wood handled leather working tool display. You are getting very good at these projects. I like that you use manual hand tools.

Thankyou. I prefer manual tools more satisfying than just running through it with grinders and sanders etc....plus no power and no room...lol. appriciate you stopping in

Yes it was bought like that, you thought was homemade but was not, I worked in a store when I was 11 up until about when I was 15 it was a grocer but we had a hardware section, it was a small community store I started in 1959 and we sold these "ice picks" as in those days we did not have ice makers in our homes but we froze ice or bought blocks of ice and you had an ice pick to chip up ice for your drink folks now days have ice makers in their refrigerator freezers that give you cubes or crushed ice, that's pretty cool so very few folks buy an ice pick to use as it was originally designed, it makes a good awl though. You did a great job on this handle and the other one you showed which I assume is a knife of some type, you have a very creative talent George!!!

Nice job on the awl handle, it looks great! I also noticed that you keep a nice clean & organized shop. I'm the same way. I don't know how some guys work in the mess they have in their workspace. Have a great weekend. JT

@2ndchancegeorge When I was a little boy, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' house. I would work on bicycles and other things I picked out of the trash. My grandfather would let me use any tool he had in the garage, but if I didn't put those tools back where I got them, he would literally kick my a$$. I'm glad he did that because now, as an adult, I still put my tools back right where they go, and I'm never wasting time looking for the tool I need.
