Candle Cove's Skin Taker looks like he could fit as one of the creepy villain of Misadventures of Flapjack and it wouldn't be out of place given the show's uncanny valley.

The original pasta still holds up IMO. I just love the premise of Mandela effect taken to its extreme, and I'm glad it didn't become an overused creepypasta trope the way standard lost episodes have.

You'd be surprised on how much shows could get away with just because they don't show a drop of blood. A character called the Skin Taker wouldn't look out of place in shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, the Grim-adventures of Billy and Mandy, Invader Zim, or the Misadventures of Flapjack. Hell I might even say you get away with that today if the show Victor and Valentino is anything to go by.

those are all 90s properties- the 90s was the era when standards and restrictions for children's tv were a lot looser (allowing things like ren & stimpy to air) with a lot of trends focusing on grossout humor and comedic violence, while the 70s tended to feature more low budget but "wholesome" media for kids. the skin taker could absolutely exist in a 90s cartoon but this is supposed to be a 70s puppet show. the culture was different.

There was a time when I started to think that this creepypasta was actually true because I vaguely remember watching a show as a kid, and that show had a character called the Skin Taker.

Fun Fact: The creator of the og Candle Cove creepypasta, Kristan Strubbs also created the popular analog horror series Local 58, he even stated that Candle Cove was a show that aired on Local 58 in universe.

iirc, the Day of the Dead spinoff was written with the intention of being an audio piece more than literature. The references to the original story are a bit more subtle with two people performing the story with the cadence of a conversation.

I remember one Candle Cove spinoff story that had a Reading on KZbin, it was about this Mother talking to her therapist about the loss of her son and the strange happenings related to Candle Cove before he dissappeared. There's tons of things in that story that I have a hard time remembering, but one of the things in the story that creeped me out as a kid was the ending twist, where it turns out that not only where the office the two are at isn't real, but that the Therapist is someone who's apart of the haunting stuff in Candle Cove and tries to convince the Mother to join them so that why she can see her son again. I didn't read that many Candle Cove-related creeyppastas, but that story always stood out to me.

Knowing that the creator intentionally linked Candle Cove and his other project, Local58, as being in the same universe, I like to think that other spinoff with the mom getting a check from Nasa would fall in there too

Hey Kids! Studios was amazing! Sad that they just vanished from KZbin tho. I also did make my own adaptation but it went on a almost completely different route than the others, while treating it like an actual show, it ended up almost being its own thing but with a few characters who had the characters names.
