I was always disappointed these games didn’t take off in popularity further / was discontinued, the first 2 in the series were among the best of the DS era undoubtedly. I still remember trying different Dino combos all the time in FF Champions, wishing I could play against real players to limit test battles. There was so much potential

Join the FF Discord in the description. From what I’ve heard, the community has found a way to use wifi in an emulator so they can fight each other online. Seems like there are a decent amount of people who do this as well

@@atommant To add onto this, they were somehow able to jerry rig the wifi to gain access to originally lost DLC for Fossil Fighters Champions as well. Yes, they somehow managed to access DLC from a discontinued service years after the fact. Insane!

@@Steelersrg8 We dont talk about this one.. Its what killed the franchise from getting another game. Though frontiers may be excessively flawed. I hope one day we can make a fangame to imagine it more in the styles of the older titles while keeping some of the good of frontiers intact.

Not getting a remaster or new game on the switch is criminal. The issues frontiers has are large and numerous. But the dune buggies would be amazing with even larger 3d worlds, bring back the art style from champions and the first game, expand the roster by a large margin and personally I would love a mix of both the stance system and the area swamp system. Removing AI companions or making them optional would be great too, all these things could be done of the switch with far less restrictions and give way more to the minigame. I also love the idea of expanding the cleaning minigame, making more tools needed over just your drill and hammer. Personally I think that can add a great skill ceiling for higher points. I could only go so far in depth on a YT comment on what I would love to see. Biggest thing of them all, fully automated battle animations, the 3d renders were crazy on the NDS. I can only imagine what it would be like if the dinosaurs did more to make the battle seem more live.

Although I never played this version and instead played Champions (and in all honesty I think that game is better than the first one but that may just be bias) this game definitely deserves any and all positive attention it gets because these games are, as the title suggests, underrated DS gems

Do you mean just having the touch screen usable? Most emulators have that function. Or do you mean having the top screen be the touch screen? If that’s the case then most emulators also have a hotkey or setting to swap them
