When I lived in Missoula, many years...OK, decades ago, my favorite bar was the Biker bar downtown; Luke's. Loved that place, I don't ride, but got to know all the local bikers. IIRC, the owner/ partners were union electricians. That was a fun place, great music, never s cover charge, and never any trouble from idiots!

I'm an old geezer now but as a young man growing up in Detroit we knew that it was wise to avoid patched bikers there. They didn't want to make friends with you and, frankly, most had serious anger or substance issues. They wore their attitude like armor. I later moved to Texas where everyone is very friendly in general and the riders I've encountered have been great. There have been a few that aren't interested in socializing beyond their own club and I'm okay with that too. Most icehouses that cater to riders/bikers won't tolerate unfriendly or stoopid behavior and I've never witnessed any such behavior myself. Basically, be friendly or stay home!

Itchymoche n Vee, You hit the nail on the head, go in and mind your own business. I normally stay out of most bars because I’m smaller and used to be a easy target for bullies. Usually someone bigger than me stepped up and stopped it, I’d buy that person whatever they were drinking and struck up a friendship with them. Continued Prayers for Vee and You.

the world is full of cowards, and bullies are some of the weakest-- next time one fucks with you, pop him hard and dont stop until hes out-- yes, u will get hurt but they wont bully you again and youll be respected --ive never seen one single bully that wasnt a complete gutless coward--thats why they pick on smaller people--because it makes them feel big and bad--so just be humble and friendly and soft spoken and when a big bad bully comes along, give em a reason to remember you.......

I've been going to different types of bars since I was 16 years old ( when the drinking age was 18 ). There was a biker bar with nude dancers that me and my buddy used to go to in East Baltimore called Lucky Spirits. I had a 1979 Honda CB650 and my buddy had a 1981? Yamaha Virago 750. Once in a while the guys would rib us about our bikes, but most were pretty cool to us.

My way of entering a Biker bar. I park my WW2 Zundapp Sidecar bike, front wheel to the kerb as I have a reverse gear. I unlock the MG 42 from the sidecar, sling the 200 round belt over my shoulder and stroll right in. The stunned silence amplifies the sound of my spurs and makes it easy for the staff to hear my drinks order. No-one bothers me. Then I wake up. But I want one of them bikes ! ( and the MG 42 )

Hey Itchy n Vee! Hope you guys are doing well. You are right. Even in a regular bar. Sometimes guys have egos take over especially when they drink too much. I went into a bar one time and my buddy was with me. We were playing a game of pool when some drunk guy was trying to accuse my friend of looking at his woman. I had to interrupt and deescalate the situation because my friend kinda has zero tolerance for stupid and it would’ve not ended up well for the drunk guy being that my friend was also sober lol. Basically come out respectful and you’ll get the same treatment.

I'm going to have to check out Genos. I live in Strongsville and have been here 4 1/2 years. Moved from the Hartford CT / Springfield Ma area for a job in Strongsville. Last weekend Saturday was nice, so I took my carb off the 01 Fatboy and replaced the intake gasket because last fall it was carb farting. That fixed the problem with 10 minutes' worth of work. I rode around the block Saturday and then took the wife out for dinner. I really didn't want to ride it because of the salt. Saturday Night it rained and rained so after I cooked a Sunday pork roast I took the bike and rode around Olmstead falls, then to Berea to the American Legion and had a couple beers. Wasn't an epic ride just couldn't leave it alone after all winter. Thanks for mentioning Geonos and now I'm going to check the place out...

Any way we spent a week in Myrtle Beach, it just happened to be black biker week, I though there would be some trouble and wondered if my friends would be nervous, well we had a great time talking to all those black guys and gals, taking tons of pictures of their bikes etc. I hope Vee is feeling well, now she can get out and enjoy the better weather. But, I'm 5'2" and me and 5 or 6 of my friends ended up in a Biker bar we've never been to, and as soon as we walked in one of the patrons in there yells out, " Who let the midget in here " ?? My bro's weren't to happy to hear that and said that I shouldn't worry about this asshole and they all had my back. Luckily after a half hour or so this dude had left the bar and we never had any problems after that. I realize I'm short, but I am not considered a midget. And, even if I was a midget, who care's. storytime.... im 46. im an old metal head. and 25 years or so ago we lived in a tiny "town" in oklahoma. well its not really a town. theres a biker bar and a gas station, literally thats it in this "town" ond we lived a few hundred feet from the bar, and we were always intrigued by the bar. well one day, half drunk alreadydecided it was time to go to the bar. now needless to say me and my buddies were a bit terrified. however after bellying up to the bar and pretending like we belonged, people just went about their business. we eventually ended up making some really good aquantences that night, and actually started to frequent the bar quite a bit actually. now there isnt any m.c.s there however there was alot of bikers and what i suspect are actuall m.c.s but just not official clubs. or patch clubs. they were certainly some gangster type bikers. but they were ALL really good guys and we never had any issues. the only time we ever saw anything was when some guy came up there looking to get fucked up, and they abliged him. he had apparently been fooling with one of the guys old ladys, and then running his mouth about it, then went up to the bar to run his mount. well about 6 guys went out back and the 7th guy shut and locked the door. about 10 minutes later they all walked back in, but the trouble maker never seemed to make it back in. and i believe a round was bought shortly after. but even tho the bar was intimidating, and had a rough reputation, but after going in, i realized it was all hype, prolly started by the patrons. lol. it was a great time in my past. i often think back on those days. i miss em. but ill never relive em.

The problem with “biker” bars is that what they really are is a place for Harley riders to congratulate each other for being in the Harley fan club. The other real problem is that a lot of these guys like to get all puffed up and tough when they get together and play some kind of stereotypical tough guy biker role. It’s why I’ve never had a Harley.
