Very sound direction and emphasis on building our plants foundations through a good physiological understanding of function. Yes, many instructional videos are out there showing the first steps armed with scissors/pruners. Not much mention of anything else. Thank you Maros!

Super helpful Maros! I understand this subject matter in principle but am still learning how to utilize techniques correctly. I absolutely look forward to your future videos on optimal pruning of trees in development - as you said, most videos are about pruning trees in refinement. Many thanks for this great resource.

But maros many bonsai experienced people says to keep trimming and reduce the foliage. So that tree push its energy on trunk. Else if there are many branches then the energy will used to feed the branches. I am getting Confused with many different views from different people.

I would like to see who are those experienced people. Trimmig is doing oposite thing. It reduces foliar mass, increases ramification, induces creation of shorter internodes but in no way it induces thickening of the trunk. Enegry is created in the foliage and transported down to the branches and trunk, as a result parts throuh which shugars flows needs to increase diameter. Take few seedlings from some plant you have locally cheaply available. Half grow with constant trimmig, and half cut back hard once in the season. And you may see results for yourself. Hope it helps.

If you want a thick trunk, you never get it in time in a Box... You have to put it in the ground for at least 5 to 10 years and Clip and grow🤷♂️🙋🏻♂️

Your comment raises a lot of interesting questions. It is partly correct and incorrect and contains some assumptions that could be or couldn't be valid, depending on circumstances. I try to address some of my thoughts on it in a separate video. Thanks for chiming in. 😉👍
