Worked a show w Frankie in South Bend, IN in early 90's. It was the 1st event at the newly built Stanley Coveleski Stadium which houses the White Sox single A ball team. Set up for shows, the main hook up for power was about 70 off the field in the front parking area. A 20" pipe was installed to run cables yet the pulley system wasn't installed. I volunteered to crawl to the other side. It was a tight squeeze but I was filthy. Shortly after they were ready for Sound Check, everything was setup w the exception of Stage Power which was what I ran. Frankie arrived from Center Field in a Limo and his driver slowly took the dirt warning track around towards 3rd base. When he got just before third, the driver gunned it and turned sharply towards behind 2nd where the stage was. When he stopped he slid in the brand new sod and it pulled up against the tire. Frankie got out and I was the 1st to the car as I was running the stage. He looked at me and said you're the dirtiest stagehand I've ever seen. I said you or your driver are the dumbest Mother F'rs I've ever seen. They were given specific instructions to NOT drive on the grass. He was a Pompus Asshole. It cost the promoter almost $6000 to repair the field in time for the 1st game.

Jesus. That drummer’s voice is amazing. Completely, precisely, on key, which is very difficult. Tone very high quality as well.

That's Gerry Polci. He and Don Ciccone (former lead singer of the Critters) really carried them through the years when Frankie didn't have his falsetto voice.

A clear memory of what I remember when I was a kid at my grandparents' condo in South Pasadena, FL. Gerry Polci singing December of '63 as part of the Four Seasons act on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve, either 1975 or 1976. I was 11 (or 12) and thought it was so cool that the drummer was singing and drumming at the same time. Never will forget it.

Gerry Polci criminally flew under the radar with the general public as one of the greatest Vocalist Drummers.... His pitch and control here are outstanding, even without him spanking the kit.... Legendary musician.... Franki though.... That voice is iconic.... Fantastic musicians, great material.... One of the best.

Just saw Frankie Valli in person at the San Jose Civic. It was on November 12th. It was my second time to see them. I had such a great time dancing 🎶 all night long. Frankie Valli is 89 years old and still going strong. What a great night it was.

I also saw him in San Jose and he was wonderful. I’m glad you got to see him. This was my first time and I loved it even if he was lip-synching I don’t care. I love him and you.
@rosarioreside3327Ай бұрын
No!,he is not lip syncing. You must be kidding 😃
@pjjj8117Ай бұрын
@@rosarioreside3327 no I’m not kidding. He was definitely lip-synching and that’s OK for 89 years old. It was still a wonderful night. We are very close, and I even walked up closer to look at his lips, and there were times where the microphone wasn’t even near his mouth, and he was singing in the wrong words. It was only for a few seconds, but it was obvious it’s OK. I still love them and him and it was wonderful.

Some history about the song December 63 as follows....The song “December - 1963 (Oh What a Night!)” was written by Bob Gaudio and Judy Parker, with lyrics inspired by a real-life event that Gaudio experienced. In an interview with UDiscoverMusic, he revealed that he was out with a girl one night in December 1963, but they didn’t sleep together, resulting in him being “as clear-minded as he had ever been”. He said, “I kind of had this foresight and a vision of what the song could be…so it was pretty special.” Using this experience as a starting point, Gaudio and Parker wrote the lyrics to the song, which tell the story of a man reflecting on a magical night he spent with a woman in December. The Lyrics Of The Song The song begins with the iconic opening lines, “Oh what a night, late December back in ’63 / What a very special time for me / As I remember, what a night.” The lyrics go on to describe the narrator’s experience of meeting a girl and feeling an instant connection with her. As the night unfolds, he can’t help but feel that something special is happening between them. The chorus of the song features the memorable line, “Oh what a night, hypnotizin’, mesmerizing me / She was everything I dreamed she’d be / Sweet surrender, what a night.” These lyrics perfectly capture the magic of falling in love and the overwhelming feeling of being consumed by someone else. The Legacy of the Song “December - 1963 (Oh What a Night!)” went on to become one of the most popular songs of all time, inspiring countless covers and remixes. Its infectious beat and romantic lyrics have been enjoyed by generations of fans, making it a true classic in the history of pop music. But what many fans might not know is that the song’s impact goes far beyond just its musical legacy. Its success helped revitalize the career of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons and paved the way for other acts in the world of rock & roll. As a result, “December - 1963 (Oh What a Night!)” will always hold a special place in the hearts of music lovers around the world.
