Hah! I KNEW there was a reason I was procrastinating fragging my corky sea finger! I needed this video! One thing I was really unsure about, was how to handle the point of contact between the stem and the rock - I didn’t know whether to remove the “skin” and now I know! Thanks Ania, for another excellent video! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great video Ania! I have been doing it similarly but just using the gel glue to cover the entire wick and then apply cyanoacrylate accelerator. The rock rubble is a nice touch though.

Thanks! I have a gorgonian that I tried to glued many times and this time I exposed that twig and glued with superglue with the support of a piece of rock like you did. Your video came at the right time :)

Thank you so much for this little lesson. I really needed this info a few months ago because I couldn't find any videos on it. So now we have a reference. I just had to wing it.

Larie Walls thank you for the positive Feedback! How did your frags go?
@MichellesMermaidRoom5 жыл бұрын
@@GalleryAquaticaTV I just stuck the new frags in the sand and let the skin die back a little then glued them to rubble. It went well enough for winging it. None floated away and I was able to trade them. Thank you again!

Sergey Gorbachev hi! Thank you for watching. This is a West Australian Photosynthetic Gorgonian. It was invoiced Euplexoria but we think it could even be Plexaura 🤷♀️

I very rarely see Gorgonians for sale down here in Melbourne. Not a popular coral I guess?
@Christian.....5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I see you often work with epoxy. Expoxy is hazardous in different ways as long is expoy unhardened. It causes a allergy for sure if you exposed long enough. The coral epoxy contains also a lot of ceramic and maybe the expoy concentration ist not so high, so I realy dont know how long it takes to get a allergy. But you will get it soon or later. Therefore, you should wear chemistry gloves (yes, they a very impractical) and always think about to use alternative compounds instead. Also the fumes are hazardous It is funny to see europallets in down under :)

Will the pieces that are removed to expose the spine grow or are the just discarded, or fed to snails.

will gorgonians encrust onto the rock or frag plug..... never mind lol...

my gorgonian is not thick like that at all, its very thin and stiff... and unfortunately seems to be shedding its skin, which doesnt seem good at all...

Hey Ania, Could you please mention the supplements names for quick growth
@GalleryAquaticaTV4 жыл бұрын
Saran AP hi Saran, Soft corals benefit from use of Iodide supplements. We use plenty of different brands across the store and coral farm but favour Seachem for Iodide as it contains only none toxic form ; Iodide (avoid iodine or iodate)
