Well, we're not exactly an evenly diverse population so it stands to reason. As for the average employee in the media and entertainment sector being 27, male, Caucasian and living in Sydney; most Aussies are of European descent, the largest population cluster is in Sydney, much of the media and entertainment industry is concentrated in Sydney and the largest age group is 25 to 35. But I'm no statistician or anthropologist or whatever so maybe I'm missing something?!

As a (white) migrant to Australia in the early 90s, the massive whiteness of its media landscape was startling. And still is (though, thankfully, this is shifting a tiny bit. Finally).

So what is wrong with "massive Whiteness"? Who is getting hurt by it? Look at how the U.S. is being destroyed by damn diversity.

Unless you grew up in the north, it wasn't the most multicultural.

This is the problem people find a issue were there is no issue it will change over time. Please look for real issues like what jobs we are going to have when the realestate bubble pops. Were jobs going to come from since we now have the most expensive electricity world. Every thing links to electricity.

@@theinternetsskinnymamma1511 the problem with is it’s her opinion not news and should be label as an opinion. She clearly just lives in the Twitter bubble. I suggest you look at the daily wire or lotus eaters and you will get the real world!

Sadly White Australia policy is still deeply entrenched in this country. It is incipidly reinforced overtly and subtley and through media. My grandad... a ww2 veteran once said to me...."if you were in a trench in the ground and left to die with no way out and a hand reached in to help pull you out would you care what colour the hand was?" It's hard to teach empathy to generations of white people who have never experienced life without privilege. So much racism is born from fear and lack of education.

Codswallop, Australia is multicultural, has been since even before that policy ended in the early 70's, merely racism only exists in multicultural nations, it doesn't exist wherever there is a monoculture or racial hegemony.

@Joe Marley Her pop might've just been giving an analogy not based on experience. He didn't have to have been there to learn a lesson from it. Do you only speak about the things that you've personally experienced? Obviously not otherwise, how would you know that WW1 was the trench wars?!
@weirdunclebob
@weirdunclebob 3 жыл бұрын
@@Raytrek79 Sure, it's multicultural but racism is still everywhere, here. Also, with global media coverage of racist events, I think we can safely say that there would probably now be racists in predominantly single race areas. Never underestimate the depths that humans can stoop to!

@Joe Marley He didn't refer to a WW1 trench specifically. It's an analogy, it's not meant to be taken literally. Basically, if you're in danger anywhere and some help is offered, would you care what colour the hand is?
