The Freedom Flotilla: Guinea-Bissau flouts Genocide Convention at Israel's request

On April 26, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey, the organizers of the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza announced that, at Israel's request, the government of Guinea-Bissau had withdrawn its flag from two of the three vessels that comprise this year's emergency flotilla to Gaza. As Dimitri Lascaris explains, Guinea-Bissau's action constitutes a flagrant violation of its obligation under Article 1 of the Genocide Convention to prevent genocide.

Because they were only doing it to create issues and delay the ship from leaving. If the flag is removed, it means the ship has to be re-inspected which caused a delay. They chose Guinea Bissau because they were more likely to agree to do this favour for Israel

Evidently this Guinea-Bissau was chosen because they are one of the Countries obligated to do it according to the Genocide Convention of 2013 that they participated in. Evidently initially they had agreed to fulfill their obligation but now blatantly violating their obligation, there must have been some huge threats against their nation. The USA is ethically and morally more obligated because of their supplying money and weapons to Israel. The USA thinks it is invincible but it won't be long before it is destroyed also, and none of the other nations will whether voluntary or involuntary be able to help it.

It’s like car insurance - in Canada. No insurance (valid plates), no drive. I mean you could still drive, but you risk getting a fine or jail if a cop scans your plates while driving behind you. In this case, the cop (Turkey) already knows they have no plates. So they can’t even leave the “driveway” (port).
