Here is a selection of shots taken during a recent hike in the French Alps.
I always try and film at least one hike in autumn each year and this was a great opportunity to both test the new BMCC6K and discover a new place.
The light was extremely bright but I love the images I was able to capture and open gate really worked with filming the incredibly high and spectacular mountains.
(I definitely missed the internal NDs of the Pro though!)
I was also very lucky to film vultures and a fox!
Shot Open Gate 12:1, in 24 and 36 fps.
All handheld.

Y'a quelque chose dans cette vidéo qui me rend triste, la musique doit jouer énormément mais la composition, le rythme, tout est maîtrisé et je sais pas comment le décrire, mais j'ai ressenti beaucoup de nostalgie en la regardant. Gorgeous footage as always. I'm looking to upgrade to the BMCC from the P4K, which means a lens overhaul. I'm thinking the Canon 24-105 might be a good starting point, is yours the Mk1 or MK2? Your eBook doesn't mention Mk2 but description here does. Not sure if there's a big difference anyway. Also is the fly by wire focus ok to use? Thanks again for the content.

Hi Flo, I am a big fan of your Channel since some years...and French Alpes,Chartreuse,Vercors are one of the best places to film... A quand le cold du Coq je l'ai fait a velo il y a 3 ans paysages extra...surtout a certaines heures coté chartreuse la ou la route est assez peu utilisé...si tu n'est pas en bonne forme c'est le challenge 😂😂😂 mais magnifique... Well I wanted just to say,your videos always looked great P4K,P6K,6K pro full frame fantastic colors and editing...you got maybe got more 3D pop with the new FF and Sirui Jupiter lenses... Ok the gears are important but they are just tools men(women) behind the camera are the real deal. A mon avis avec la 6K pro c'etait deja top notch et perso je préfere le S35 look...apres tout depend de l'utilisation...j'ai aussi le panasonic S5 org en plus de la P6K org et meme si il est FF je l'utilise tres souvent en Crop Mode S35 pour differente raisons... Curious if you will stay more with the pro...or more with the P6K full frame...I bet 6Kpro😊😊😊

The more pictures I see of the BMCC, the more I like it. It is the antithesis of an automatic camera. Question: Does the image stabilizer of the Canon EF 16-35, f4.0 or the EF 24-105 f4.0 II work with the MC21 on the BMCC? Is the effect strong or rather weak? And, very impressive shots!

KZbin's compression isn't kind to solid colours haha! I am pretty steady with handheld shots and I also post stabilised :)

Hey Flo, when you use the image stabilisation from your 24-105 mkii.. Do you also use the gyro in Davinci? Or do you have to choose one or the other at the time of filming?

I actually have the same question. So please Florent let us know. I use my bmpcc4k with canon 25-105 f4 is. And i am struggle with this IS, when i fully zoomed in this IS looks so weird - just unnatural, if i drop on it warp stabailizer in premiere it looks even worse. But if i not gonna use IS so it can be kinda tricky to fix it after - because then i have problems with micro jitter. Bit your handheld footage looked so smooth.

Hey, I only use the IS on the lens with stabilisation in post in FCPX. I don’t really use gyro, especially with Is lenses ☺️

Congrats!! I also use mostly EF glass for now with the sigma mc21 adapter and so far so good. Nothing in particular to look out for, apart for being aware of vignetting on certain wide lenses. Happy shooting! ☺️
